Anyone have any experience with Weber? Just wondering about the quality of the basic components and the overall level of support available. Thanks in advance.

I built this one a few years ago:

From what I remember, the only thing I didn't like was the quality of the pots. As I understand it, they have upgraded their supplier on that aspect. I built this one for a friend, and it has the standard Weber transformers (which I believe they have built to spec in China) and the amp sounds great. It's a 5F6A Bassman. One important thing to keep in mind is that Weber kits do not come with instructions, so you need to know how to read resistor codes, etc. All the parts come in one big zip-loc bag. As far as support goes, I did have one part missing, and they sent it right out with no questions asked.

Ever since I got screwed by him on the Ken Fisher-Trainwreck Climax amp fiasco, I'll never trust Kendrick again!!!!

Different Weber. Gerald Weber is the guy at Kendrick. Ted Weber is the kit supplier / speaker builder / attenuator guy.

Ted is good people (from my experience, anyways) and unfortunately for us all passed away last year. He did a good job mentoring his employees, though, and the business is still running.

As far as the OP, i haven't tried one of his kits, but the prices sure look good.

Nice job! I can tell from your handiwork that you aren't new to amp-building (that and the fact that most folks don't start with something as demanding as that particular build).

My bad, Gerald Weber with Kendrick is an a-hole.

+1, but without Gerald I wouldn't have my modded to 100 watt specs Boogie .50Cal+...Threatened him with calling the Better Business Bureau...

Thanks! It was actually my first build from scratch, but I have done a lot of old tube amp restorations and repairs over the years. Been in electronics for 27 years.

I actually live about 1/2 away from Weber here in Indiana, and know a couple people who have worked there over the years. I don't have personal experience with the kits, but know several people who have put them together with great results.
