cynic Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Caught their show last Saturday. I wasn't sure what to expect with Steven Page out of the band. I missed his vocals on the first song or two, but after that I forgot he wasn't there. Not sure how many BNL fans there are here, but I'd highly recommend seeing them if they come through your part of the world. Great folksy music mixed with a healthy dose of just plain fun and entertainment.
DavidE Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 Is Ed singing Steven's songs or are they just leaving them out?
Brian Harmon Posted July 29, 2010 Posted July 29, 2010 I've always been a bit on the fence about BNL. I like a lot of the songs, but Steven's voice always bothered me a bit. I might be more interested now.
cynic Posted July 29, 2010 Author Posted July 29, 2010 Is Ed singing Steven's songs or are they just leaving them out?I'm not familiar enough with their past set lists to know specifically what songs they used to do live but are leaving out now, but they did do a few and Pages parts were either sung by Kevin Hearn (mosty) or Ed. Jim Creegan seemed to be adding more harmony than I remember too, which could be due to Page's departure.I was a little on the fence as well. I was maybe 60/40 like/dislike on their studio work, but my wife (being the Canadian in the family) insisted they're a live band and "EVERYONE LOVES THEM LIVE." I'm off the fence in full agreement with her now.

Definitely worth seeing live.MarkB
