  1. My trusty Bass Driver DI has been my main gig feature/DI for over 20 years, and it’s never let me down. I inherited a Bass Fly Rig this year, and it’s been a first rate gig DI/floor pedal - sounds great! I do use a dedicated power supply though - never batteries.
  2. They are good to deal with, it aren’t they going out of business?
  3. SuperVee BladeRunner. Excellent trem, and I’ve put them in a bunch of Strats. Super well made, and great tuning stability.
  4. These aren’t technically sellers - they’re auction speculators. Not sure why eBay allows them, but…here we are. I’m still most likely that none of the people listing the bass (or item) actually have it in their possession. They copy the photos, description and set a price. If a seller buys it now or is the high bidder, they attempt to purchase the bass/item and then score a profit. In the case where the bass/item has already been sold, they simply cancel the sale/auction and return the money. The auction sites are flooded with these speculators and copycats. Weird business model.

Closer to $2k (or more) for a thrashed one. In excellent condition, they’ve been SELLING in the $3-$4k range, especially since the Pandemic. They were well above $2k 10 years ago, honestly.
  6. If you want to pay more, buy it here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/285606514384?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=V6SpTruXQl6&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=eOB2b9kpQFG&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY If you’d prefer to save a few hundred, try here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/355257217281?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=iieuyz6crte&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=eOB2b9kpQFG&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY
  7. That’s a solid deal, and good mods. Replacement covers are ridiculously cheap if you wanted to convert them from white.
  8. Steve Parker (Parklane) does great work! I was psyched when he agreed to do the custom inlays for me too.
  9. I'm on a self-imposed "NO NEW GUITARS" thing, but I did finish at least one build this year. The inlays make this one…
  10. Hmmmm…I’ve never had to pay any ADDITIONAL taxes/duties on anything shipped to DC, MD or DE. Sales tax may (or may not) be assessed at the time of purchase, but I’ve never seen anything additional with shipping or Customs.
  11. That 87 flametop, triple pickup one IS a Standard. He ordered a 24-fretter, which makes it look weird, perhaps. It's documented. As Jeffro mentioned, the black one is a custom-ordered Blitz. Standards were dropped from the catalog, but a few were built before they "reintroduced/reissued" them in mid-1995. I custom ordered one in 1990 and it came with the beveled headstock. I also owned a 1994 Bill Kaman, Jr. ordered Standard 8 that pre-dated the catalog bringback era.
  12. Im 99.9% sure that’s an aftermarket finish. Hamer did the Zebra and “Zulu” finishes as stock graphics, but although they did do some custom finishes, that isn’t one of them. Still has a cool ‘80s vibe though!
  13. I still have every one of those things...plus the leather-sleeved all black varsity jacket that I don't think I've ever worn!
  14. It’s a Chapparal Bass (not a Max) with the Ebony Board/Boomers upgrade.
  15. …and Sold! I chatted with Greg this afternoon and he mentioned that it’s going to be heading about 8 hours mostly west and a little south of the DC area.
  16. I had a gorgeous Goldtop one of these. Like an idiot, I moved it along, can’t even remember what. I also had a 59 Burst and a Green one, both of those were the stock humbucker versions.
  17. The bass was completely refinished maybe a decade or less ago.
