  1. Vai mugs it up for the audience a lot. Satriani sings. Wow! Those boys can play!
  2. Is anyone going to see Joe Satriani and Steve Vai in Atlanta on Wednesday?
  3. I see a slab body with what is hopefully a 24 3/4" scale set neck. It would nice to try one.
  4. Mother of pearl is so much more dense than plastic. Are you noticing any neck dive? 😐
  5. One of my Specials has a serial number within 7 digits of that one. Mine has a thinner neck.
  6. There might be a boutique builder who has used that shape. It seems familiar.
  7. I wonder if it is possible to order a robot guitar from the Gibson Custom Shop? Imagine what the Murphy lab relic job would look like. 😁
  8. For many people the upcoming solar eclipse will be a once-in-a-lifetime event. Many people will be watching the event on their cell phones instead of just looking up. Glenn Danzig is known for not wanting cell phones at his shows. Rob Zombie asked the audience to put away their cell phones after a while at a concert I attended. Photos are fine, but when the phone is up for entire songs there is a problem. When you have front row, enjoy the live show! Seeing and hearing a great guitar player or performer is what you paid for. Watch someone else's videos at home.
  9. This morning I looked up tickets for an upcoming Bob Dylan show. You can bring your camera, but you will not use your phone's camera! From the ticket sales page: KNOW BEFORE YOU GO Fan Advisory Language This show will be a phone-free experience. Use of cellphones, cameras, binoculars, or recording devices will not be permitted in the performance space. Upon arrival at the venue, all phones will be secured in Yondr pouches that will be opened at the end of the event. Guests maintain possession of their phones at all times, and can access their phones throughout the event at designated Phone Use Area in the venue. All phones will be re-secured in Yondr pouches before returning to the event space. Anyone seen using a cell phone during the performance will be escorted out of the venue. Guests are encouraged to bring a bank or credit card for purchases inside the venue. We appreciate your cooperation in creating a phone-free viewing experience. ENTRY POLICY No flash photography.
  10. I'm sorry. Can you repeat the question? 😐
  11. If you do not need the money, keep it.
  12. @Dutchman is right about the Country Music Hall of Fame. It is laid out better than the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. You spend most of day there.
  13. Well...as we get old and arthritic those larger knobs become necessary. 😉
  14. There it is-- one more thing to lust after that will never be mine. 😑
  15. It is a private group, so those of us not on FB will never see it.
  16. If you do frets regularly it is not a problem. If you are doing a one time job just be patient.
  17. I can travel there to pick up the guitar if someone wants to avoid shipping. How much of a road trip comes afterward is a matter to be discussed later.
  18. At the show on New Year's Eve the kick drum had a front head saying "get well soon - we love you" and Brit's name in big letters. I think of Brit Turner as the guy that was always promoting charitable efforts the band was associated with. That made him a good guy in my opinion.
  19. 1993 was the transition year for neck thickness. So, does this one have the thinner neck or the medium neck?
  20. The signature has to be very early or from the last 20 years. Ace stopped signing guitars by the early 90's because he did not like people selling guitars he signed for an extra $1000 or so. By the 2000's he started charging big bucks to sign guitars. Today the cost of his signature on a guitar varies with the value of the guitar being signed.
