I currently own 2 guitars, an Ibanez 440R (think of a Joe Satriani body shape, but with S-S-H config), which was my first guitar and my Studio Custom Ltd. Redwood. When I first started playing, I bought the Ibanez because it seemed like a good guitar price-quality wise and I liked the body shape. Then, being the gearnut that I am, I started browsing different brands and I stumbled upon Hamer and immediately fell in love with the Studio body shape. I don't think I'll buy an import guitar any time soon. Perhaps I'm a bit of a snob, but I really love the idea of owning a hand made guitar. Seeing the prices second hand Hamers are going, odds are quite high that I'll end up buying more over time, but for now, being a student, my Studio Custom has taken up a nice chunk of budget, so it would really have to be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity before I splurge again (or the price would have to be ridiculously low).
