  1. I’m in concerning guitars, amps, and cabs. I may order another fuzz but am trying not to. The only exception to this will be if 0117 gets completed.
  2. Not to hijack, but I have one of those Mojotone 10s that I’ll sell for cheap if anyone wants it. Just sayin’….
  3. What @cmatthesand @DaveH said…that just screams rock and roll.
  4. @Hackubus, is that a 6g3 Fender Deluxe or a clone thereof…? Me likey…
  5. @JGale did you get the 5992s or the Bendix 6v6gtys?
  6. And I also remember being appalled at a Mutt Lange interview where he stated Def Leppard worked for 3-6 months on JUST THE DRUM SOUNDS on Pyromania. They would endlessly play each specific part of the kit until Mutt thought that hit was perfect. They may have pieced together the drums but at least Rick actually played them while they were being recorded. I would lose my mind. That said, that album made them superstars and millions of dollars. And the drums DO sound huge.
  7. As you well know, the difference is stark: the accordion and the electric guitar were both being played by humans, creating and making music with their brains, ears, and hands, and heart. AI is fake music. What’s the point? I had a dude at church show me a song that chatgbt wrote for him and I freaking lost it a bit. It is soulless and just fake. Screw the click.I want a drummer. I remember when Joey Kramer got replaced for not wanting to play to a click at the Vegas residency. Jack Douglas stated that all the early Aerosmith records had perfect tempo issues…the songs ebbed and flowed as they moved in intensity. He said it is part of what made them great. You can hear the humanness. Ironically enough, Jack’s son replaced Joey and he had no issues playing to a click live.
  8. I’d have to add Aerosmith’s Live Bootleg! and the Stones Exile on Main St
  9. I feel the same way about TopHats and my Valvetech. I have the sounds I want. Congrats on finding it with Bogner!
  10. I am partial to this one cause it got played on KLOS. And we had a ringer blow alto sax. https://acrev.bandcamp.com/track/rock-and-roll-santa
  11. Nothing has changed for me, not really. Good guitars into really good overdriven tube amps is my tone. I did add a TopHat Club Royale Mk5 amp cause I do love that Vox edge of breakup thing. Add to that my other amps and I am good. I do gravitate to a treble booster for the 70s tone and fuzz as a dirt effect, especially a fuzz face with my Strat. I bought a Trex Replicator D’Lux which is a real tape delay. I love it for an echo. It is magical. Any other pedals are just for effect or dirt coloration, especially when using my Lil Dawg WonderDawg amp. But all I need for my tone is a quality broken up Brit-type amp and good guitars. Pedalboards and I don’t get along well, especially onstage.
  12. It’s the current engineering culture where people want a song constructed perfectly down to each individual note….as opposed to just playing and capturing a performance. This is why anyone with an iPad and access to artificial intelligence can build a song. All without even actually playing a real instrument. I even reject setting up a grid in my DAW on my music. Music needs to breathe and ebb and flow. Technology has been a tremendous boon to recording as well as a tremendous detriment. Just because we CAN do something doesn’t mean we SHOULD necessarily.
  13. Yeah, I use Reatune in Reaper occasionally but very sparingly…you’d never know it. The compressor is more important and there are some plugs that compress just like the classics they emulate. When I first started recording, the best advice I was given was Lget it right at the mic”. Nothing replaces a good performance. You want some humanity in there too. Perfect imperfections as Dwight Yoakum said. And that is the first and last time I will ever quote him lol.
  14. Ima guessin’ the setting that doesn’t get played is ironically enough the Mesa mode. Am I right?
  15. Damn. Look on YouTube SO MANY great vid reviews of this amp…..somebody buy this! I would but my 2022 TopHat perfectly scratches my Marshall plexi itch. So does my Valvetech….yet this amp is the real deal.
  16. @specialk, what is the backstory on Macca not paying Denny? I have never heard that. Educate me, please.
  17. I once bought a Hamer Korina Junior here that was once owned by some dude in Vertical Horizon…? Even more impressive was the T51 that @0054 sold me with was verifiably owned previously by Bubs.
  18. I once sat on an airplane a couple rows back from Mary Lou Retton who was reading a biography about, well…Mary Lou Retton.
