  1. Interesting guitar there! Do you have any references here on the board? I'm certainly interested in the guitar Thanks, Erik
  2. Weezer equipment Check out the column on the right. Not exactly updated, but still
  3. I just started checkin out the boards again, and I'm sorry I didn't reply to this sooner. Yes, I have actually owned a Talladega Pro before, and like you I have a Monaco Elite. Build-wise the Pro is typical Hamer, meaning impeccable. Binding, finishing, hardware (heck, I liked the TonePros/Klusons so much I thought about putting them on my Elite just for laughs). Anyway, I'd say the Elite is definitely the more rock oriented of the two, and like you I've thought about switching the pickups to get to a different sound, then I realize I have other guitars for that. The main thing that bothered me about the Pro was the V-shaped neck. For the life of me, I could not get over it. I'm a fan of a substantial neck profile, but damn, whenever I played it my brain kept nagging about it. Soundwise, it was a lot clearer than the Elite, and sang more, whilst the Elite ROARS with the stock pickups. I apologize for the brevity there, I'm not very good with the adjectives and tone lingo
  4. Anyone else remember that Black Beauty Standard that Dave's had a while back? As much as I love the Monaco Elite I didn't think a Black Beauty version would work, but this is making me plum crazzzyyyyyy. If this thing had multi-ply binding, I'd be all over this.
  5. The Adagio (2nd movement) in Joaquin Rodrigo's 'Concierto de Aranjuez.' A true masterpiece in every sense of the word. I owe someone here on the board for making me privy to that song.
  6. Coincidentally, that's practically the same as my first too! Do you still have it? I have that thing to bits and pieces, but the lure of other Hamers is teasing me. Is this going to be the start of my own "insane spiral"?
  7. As promised, here are the meager pics. No great camera here, it's mostly just to give you guys an idea of what I have. Nothing fancy My '04 Monaco Elite, simply amazing, like a very muscular Hulk. Hard rock with a bit of class '98 Ibanez Artist. Unlike the "shredder" types they usually make, these guitars just *feel* so good. Acoustically, more balanced sounding than the Elite, and I use it for more classic rock sounds. 06 Reverend Volcano: Light, resonant, and incredibly wide range of sounds, from jangly to full 'bucker tones. Incredible guitars for the money
  8. Haha, I only have the one and a couple of interesting ones now (hey, I am "Always Broke" after all) but you have to start somewhere, right? As a less than orthodox business person, I think now is the time to BUY, 'cause it sure ain't time to sell...
  9. I guess common courtesy here dictates I have to get shot of my humble stable to satisfy the village. I'll work on that once I have more than a crummy little cam phone to use
  10. Hey HFC! I've been a longtime reader of this board, and decided it was about time to get my feet wet and contribute. I'm just a normal kid who got started lusting for Hamers (bad news bears) and can't get enough of them. I have a small collection of guitars I probably don't deserve by means of a few online business sales here and there, but maybe one day I'll be worthy. Looking forward to chiming in, so excuse my occasional ignorance x.x Edited to add: As promised, here are the meager pics.
