Yeah, I based my comment on the 8-track version, on which 2,000 Man was first. I never owned a vinyl or cassette copy; currently own the digital download and never paid attention to the track order.

Thanks for listening! Glad you're enjoying it!

I forgot which was first on the 8-track, but that's the version that burned this album into my head as well. To this day, when I hear the full guitar solo in "X-Ray Eyes", it throws me because the track change came in the middle of that and there was music missing.

And more about the "Elder" than you want to know - on the initial pressings at least, there was a difference in the music between the vinyl, cassette and 8-track versions. One had an extra instrumental bit that wasn't on the others. It was not on the cassette, but I'm not sure if it was the vinyl or 8-track that had it. I tried several copies of the vinyl, all of which skipped, which is why I ended up with the cassette version.

Yep. It was years before I heard "Little Dreamer" and "Somebody Get Me a Doctor" in my own room without interruption. What a stupid format, the 8-track.

Ha! I think Steve and I had that same experience with "WACF" on 8 track...

Episode 18 now live: Andy, Chris, and Nick break down "I'm Gonna Love You" the opening cut from Peter Criss' 1978 solo album. Also, the guys discuss in detail the fact that there is not a dull page in the Catman's book, "Makeup to Breakup."

Finally a Peter Criss solo track! And the opener at that - one that made it readily apparent that his album was not going to be like all the others. I don't dislike his solo album by any stretch (and I really like a couple of the ballads), but it's not a Kiss album.

You guys aren't doing the post-Kiss albums by the guys, right? I'd love to hear the reaction when the "A kiss is still a kiss..." bit pops up on "Out Of Control".

Listened to most of this today - freaky, but you guys mentioned that it had a "Dirty Livin'" feel about five minutes after I thought "Dirty Livin' would fit nicely next to this".

Gene's nuts if he really thinks this album is a 0 of 5. I think Gene would rather give away $5 than give Peter (or Ace) legitimate credit.

Another entertaining P.O.T. :)

Unmasked came out pretty much the week between my last day of high school, and graduation day. I remember laying on my bed, with Unmasked on the turntable of my Panasonic "all in one stereo", reading "Salem's Lot" at 2 am. (It's kinda funny I can remember such things from 30 years ago, and I couldn't tell you what I had for supper last night.)

I always seen Unmasked and Dynasty as sister albums. Albeit, Unmasked as the less attractive sister. I suppose thats due in part Poncia's production and Ace's taking a third of the songwriting / singing. Also,

the Vegas style costumes were held over from Dynasty to the Unmasked Tour. So they're tied together in my mind.

What Makes The World Go Round, was always one of my favorites off Unmasked. I don't know for sure, but I always thought that Paul played lead guitar on his songs, and Ace on his, on this album. Also,

Two Sides Of The Coin, and Torpedo Girl sounded incomplete to me, with no solo from Ace on either. By no solo, I mean a tradition pentatonic Frehley styled lead. To me, they sound like the rhythm tracks, without a solo

laid over them.

Episode 22 now live: Andy, Chris and Nick break down "Bang Bang You" from Crazy Nights, then make no apologies as they admire Paul Stanley's uber-sexy photo on the album's back cover!

Possibly my least-favorite album - but another ep of about the only podcast I keep up to date on!

BTW, if you haven't picked up the new Kiss book, "Nothin' To Lose", it's a pretty good read. A lot of material you'll be familiar with, but a lot of stuff from the road crew and several stories I don't think I've heard before. Not a ton of Ace/Peter contributions, and Gene and Paul can't help but rip them almost every time they compliment them. A ton of pictures I hadn't seen before.

We'll take it! Thanks for listening!

It just means I haven't gotten around to procrastinating about this one!

I'm far enough behind on Kevin Smith's Smodcast that I missed a local appearance - by over three months.
