RichRS6 Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 Another 78 with sustainblock bridge, short headstock and "exquisite" bullseye grovers. S/N is 8 0466.
tommyh Posted May 16, 2013 Posted May 16, 2013 @RichRS6 - methinks actually a long headstock, and small dots (not big like ours?). I would have thought 78 early for a sustainblock but I guess it must be original (?). Very clean, nice curly top, not an HFC member ?! Cheers, T.
Andrew Posted May 17, 2013 Author Posted May 17, 2013 Short headstock start in the 8 0370s, sustain-blocks start in the 8 0450s. So this is an early sustain-block.
RichRS6 Posted May 18, 2013 Posted May 18, 2013 Very.Got plenty of Sunbursts at the mo though and really trying to hang on for a Standard. The seller put up a pic of the headstock and its a later one.
RichRS6 Posted May 20, 2013 Posted May 20, 2013 Thats about the right price for a late 78 with dots.I think the days of picking them up for cheap went with the arrival of the internet.Congratulations to the new owner, it looks like a nice one.
