bubs_42
Seems are last thread got archived, so lets start another one. I purchased for a dollar a large sheet of plexi glass for making a pedalboard a long time ago. Well, I wanted to make a board this weekend so I started by cutting a sheet out, getting a heat gun out of the garage and working a little magic. I still have a couple pedal inbound for a small board with a few pedals. Light, easy on the eyes and practical. Get some pics up when its complete. hamerhead
Hey Dingus - you can't say 'Pedalboard Pron' and then not have pictures. What the hell is wrong wih you?!? Plus, the first time you stomp on your plexiglass board, it's going to be many many smaller randomly-shaped boards. You from Illinois or what? velorush
Requested pron: ETA: of course, to Bubs' credit, Trailer Trash has been doing plexi-topped boards for quite a while.

JES1680
Not as pretty as a Trailer Trash, but functional. Fairly static now with the occasional swapping of treble boosters. Not sure why this pic make my looper look all cockeyed.
Sugartune
A friend of mine made the board for me. It was a nice gesture and it turned out to be pretty nice. At the time, I only had 4 pedals (Tuner, FD2, a Range Master clone and a different delay). It's changed and expanded a bit I need to add a riser level for the back row. tbonesullivan
One of these days/months/years/decades I will finally get a guitar pedalboard together. Until then, i just have my bass pedalboard. I have since cleaned up the wiring a bunch.
tobereeno
At the moment I can't remember where I bought this pedalboard from online, but it's wooden and has two tiers. There are two Voodoo Labs power supplies tucked under the raised portion. Send/return/channel switcher are ziptied together on one end, I plug my guitar into the other side, and I need one 120V cord to power the board. Messy cables on stage drives me insane; this is designed to put amp and pedalboard in place, plug in the pedalboard with one cable bundle, power up the board and amp, plug in guitar and I'm good to go. I need to get my VHT Valvulator fixed and put back on, but otherwise this is pretty much it. It occurred to me recently that I don't really have much in the way of crazy time-based effects. I wanted to have a complete analog signal path and this is what I came up with. I rarely if ever turn a knob; I've found settings that I like and I took a photo because sometimes my toddler son will come over and start twisting knobs and I'm too old and senile to recall where everything was set. I have a love/hate relationship with the MXR compressor; I think I may start hunting for something that isn't so heavy-handed in squishing the signal. But I do live in Nashville; owning this pedal is mandatory....
Armitage
The Diamond CPR1 is the most natural compressor I've ever heard... if your looking...
Sugartune
That's a Holey board! I might give one a go if I need a new board anytime. I just don't like the look of the zipties. Petty. Yes.

I just don't like the look of the zipties. Petty. Yes. yep neither do I, so most of my pedals are velcroed the traditional way. I generally only ziptied pedals that have rubber feet that are too much of a PITA to remove~
Sugartune
I have a question about those smaller/neater cables some of you have. What are they? Are they kits, (solderless or not?), ones you built? etc.? I spent a small fortune on these Monster and Fulltone cables, lifetime warranty, all that jazz...but they're big a bulky and don't look as neat and tidy. I've read up on some of the solderless kits, but apparently many of them should be replaced yearly (????). Oxidization or something like that...Pretty expensive proposition to have to replace that regularly. I'm probably reading the wrong things, but please enlighten me! They have a particular sound which I'm not super crazy about, but I don't mind it either. They're convenient and compact. But when something sounds not quite right, that's a lot of solderless connections to wiggle to find the one that's gone a bit loose. Then there's the guitar cable. I keep that one short; you can buy pretty much anything in a 10' length. If I'm playing on a stage that has me moving more than 10' from my pedalboard, I'm in a dream where I'm opening for Rush and kindly do not wake me up. I'm currently using two different Mogami cables with Neutrik silent plugs, largely again because that Silent Plug feature is very convenient. One is a Mogami 2524 that's thinner than normal (but not George L thin) and has this new-fangled thing called an Ultimate Plug; there's a four-position rotary knob on the plug that's basically a tone knob. The other is a Mogami Platinum, because I wanted to feel the insanity of paying over $100 for 10ft of cable. Cross that one off the bucket list; it sounds good but I won't buy one again. I think that once you get past a certain point in cable quality, the differences are literally inaudible by most people. I also have a Canare cable I've had for years, recorded and gigged with zillions of times and I'm sure if I really, really paid attention and really, really cared, I might hear a difference in tone. Maybe.

Amp is a metroplexi the Blue one is the channel switcher, selector of what type, year of Marshall you want. The Red button is just that.... makes the selected channel go red (internal boost / 808 ish with its own vol and gain on the amp, trim pots inside.) bubs_42
What didn't George think of on that amp? Sounded darn good! I had the day off with a sick kid (so not really a day off) but we worked on a few things together to make the day go by. Pedalboard is about 90 complete, the missing pedal is still at dragans but I replaced it for now with the another OD. My, My does it sound good, really good. If anyone is a fan of the Sparkle Drive they should check out the Saucy Box from Way Huge. Pro Guitar Shops even has a High Clipping Version but man this thing is all i need. The Shark
My Trailer Trash board built up by THE Dave Friedman. Try to get him to build one now. His amp line has blown up in the past three years. A great guy.

I made the new board and you can pick it up with one finger and it has only what I know i'll need to cover what I need to cover. Best of all, I make it myself with free stuff, other than some screws. Screws are never free.
BruceM
This is an interesting thread to me. ...and for the record, I'm just trying to remain in character. I'm not really anti-pedal board; I'm pro-convenience. I'm actually considering a minimalist pedal board, simply for convenience. During my sixtieth pedal board edict party, at which there were so many people moving on and off the stage, it was more convenient (for me) not to have to deal with guys who REQUIRE pedal boards and all the setup time that seems to take. Since then, I've gotten used to having a variety of pedals with battery power floating around the basement. I'd be hard pressed to settle on the ones I wanted for a four pedal board, say, and in recent practices, I've only used a single pedal when playing guitar and learning new songs. I suppose my board should be small with simple velcro attachments and easily reconfigurable. I'm also organizing another gig at the same venue. This time I'll have fewer bands and no equipment requirements, other than the ability to get yourself on and off stage quickly. Jeez, what a hardass. That's the whole point of having a (reasonably sized) pedalboard: for convenience and to keep setup/teardown time to a minimum. Everything's all wired up on a single platform, you just connect power, input, output and go. It's the guys who have to plug/unplug all their individual pedals and worry about how much juice is in their batteries who bog shit down. Don't even get me started about the "front of the amp versus the effects loop" yahoos. If you have a pedalboard and your use of effects isn't 99% hassle-free, you're doing it wrong.
