The Shark
We still break out I Wanna' Be With You every once in a while. That Newport is right up his alley. Saw him solo in 1977 at Stetson University in DeLand Florida. I'd only been playing for a year, but I knew that was one of the best rhythm guitar sounds I'd ever heard. They played loud too. currypowder
Looks just like the Newport that was delivered to me today. Black Cherry burst.

Jakeboy
The only Newport color I dig better than that is the plain orange....
RobB
Raspberries rule. Crushed by their AM radio success, they evolved into a hard-rocking pop band and then broke up. Listen to "Party's Over", their lamentable swan song. Ain't it a shame..? Their guitarist used really cool chord inversions, in tandem with Carmens solid rhythm chops. Took me a while to nail the "correct" way to play "Tonight." The chords sound so simple, but their voicing are NOT. The Rubinoos' version is the most accurate of 'em all
gorch
Haven't heard of him by his name before. He must be a clever guy, though, Newports rule.
