Punkavenger
What are the best ones to use? I don't want to damage my guitars. Thanks!
cmatthes
I use the Hercules hangers. Safe, durable and they hang easily.
Ting Ho Dung
^^^ Same here. I will say I screw mine directly into a wall beam. They say you can use those plastic inserts into drywall but I'm not going to take a chance.
Jeff R
My shop's display wall has eight of 'em and I love them. Highly, highly recommended. Kiz recommended them to me - I think he has a wall covered with them as well.
currypowder
I've used String Swings for years. Although I like the Hercules ones a little better, I'm not going to swap them out. Most are installed directly in the drywall with no beam and I've never had an issue. The Zip-it drywall anchors are very stable, at least for the 5 years I've had them installed. There's no evidence of instability, cracking or anything else that would indicate an issue. Before anyone tries to beat me up, I certainly realize anchoring them in some way to a beam is far safer and that I'm taking a risk.

Yeah, I only once put an acoustic in the drywall. It didn't fall but once when I picked it up, the top screw was coming loose.

Uncle Thor's Hamer
Hercules. I like the way they grab the neck. The guitar can't be bumped out of the holder. I have mine mounted to a board which is mounted to the wall studs.
shankyboy
The Hercules Hangers are a bit pricey but well worth the piece of mind that my guitars are not going to fall off.
RobB
Stringswing all the way. No danger of the Guitar popping out with the rubber washers at the end. They accommodate odd-shaped headstocks better, too, as you can bend the cradle to shape.
ptm1diver
String Swing has a great rail system and hangers. I have mine setup to hold 15 guitars and basses.

The walls are sheet rock over plywood, so no need to search for studs... I've since put the Explorer-shaped guitars on the opposite wall. No guitar stands allowed. Rich_S
For me it's String Swings, with this kind of anchors in dry wall. Couple Teles, Sunburst, P-Bass, acoustic... Never had a problem. I use the larger 1/2" diameter anchors: https://www.lowes.com/pd/E-Z-Ancor-50-Pack-1-625-in-x-0-5-in-Standard-Drywall-Anchor/1098803

bubs_42
I just came across these. I only have one hanger on the wall, but I have a Coffin Crypt that I leave 3 in for easy access. http://www.musicradar.com/news/guitars/the-guitar-hanger-safe-axe-storage-like-a-shirt-204445
humfree
3 for $12 on Amazon - hard to go wrong. I've bought 10 over the years and never bothered to look at the manufacturer - they all work great 20 years going.
hamerhead
This was from Amazon: I may have over-tightened this one because the rest haven't cracked, but I do now check them periodically. Any new ones will be Hercules.

hamerhead
Yeah, the case shelf was a bittersweet gift from my wife, as in "Did she really? Um....no she didn't". But I smiled through the tears and said thank you just the same.
