3 Monkeys Sock Monkey 18, who had the Feb 27th?  In the battle of EL84 and 6v6's to my ears the 6v6's is just what I want to hear. So for your entertainment I give you the a Carolina Blue Sock Monkey 18, this monkey has a few nicks in it and has seen some use. but still sounds like the beast that it is. I will offer it up with either the 55hz Reaper (MY CHOICE) or the Greenback. I will take a full shots tonight but I could not resist letting you guys slag me for the full day entertainment.

As far as features go, that makes this more versitile that the average 18 watt M-Clone is that fact that it produces the sounds of those great recordings straight out of the speaker. You want complete vintage 18 tones, you got it, but then you can use the pull boost to goose the front end and then you get the classic modded tones. I run it with the pull engaged and set just before noon and the volume around 1:30. Oh then you can just drop the volume, balance out the master and get the same tones at conversation levels. It doesn't get much better than that now does it?

$900 plus actual shipping. AND NO I DID NOT BUY A BUDDA OR ANYTHING ELSE! SS :P

We never seem to be on the same time table EVER. ;) I've been bringing it to every rehearsal, swapping speakers and it sounds great, but its not going to beat the OJR for top spot.

The Orangutan Jr is just my wheel house and when you get a sound in your head, that is all you want to hear. Everything else may be great, but you will always try to make it sound like the other one.

Actual shipping. So does that mean you'd entertain a ship to Canada? (Where are you shipping from?)..

bah, nevermind. Too much juggling would be requiring and shipping is a bit cost prohibitive.

One can only dream.

The guy you sold it to sold it on TGP about a month later.  I got there a little late.  Then Saturday, a Sock Monkey with the WGS 55hz Reaper showed up on Reverb at a rather astounding price.  I'd already purchased the Budda by then, but later that day after getting the rectifier tube back in a realizing it had a bad cap, I checked back at Reverb.  It hadn't sold, but the price had been changed to something more in line with what you would expect.  I went ahead and offered him the original price, which he declined.  16 hours later, he messaged and said he'd sell it at that price after all if I still wanted it.

So, I'm not 100% sure it is yours, but it seems pretty likely.  Hopefully nothing has shaken loose with all the shipping.  Taking that Budda back broke my heart.

I looked it up and yep that was mine. I also found a listing for it 2 years ago from a Canadian Seller. Shit this thing has been around the block! Biggest tell is the ding in the handle and now the Gold Label WGS Speaker.

Well, I seriously need a combo for doing some smaller gigs, so I'm hoping this is the ticket.  This Friedman is awesome, but it needs to be up to 100 db before it starts giving up the magic (seriously, I measured it - and it goes from Fantasia Mickey to Gandalf between 110 db and 120 db).  I'm actually kinda worried where I will ever be able to really use it, but I imagine some of these festival gigs this summer that are outdoors will give me a chance to let 'er rip a little.

These new school attenuators from UA, Fryette, and Rivera are awesome, but I can buy another used Budda for that kind of scratch.

@gtrdaddy has one for sale. Digging my Orangutan Jr. a lot. So much that Sock Monkey got me thinking about going for it...a little bit, then the plan for sanity this year was remembered. Divest! :)
