you may want to "blend" in the middle pup, the dedicated second(?) vol. it may be already wired as such (?)

Master vol.

middle pup vol.

Master tone.

three way toggle.

To achieve blend, swap middle pup hot from outside pot lug to middle lug, to output.

swap hot from toggle, from outside lug master vol to middle, output to outside lug.

This will achieve "blend", like Frampton's LPC.

Add a five way blade switch, master volume, master tone and blender pot.

If you don't mind investing in an insanely expensive toggle switch, I put one of these in a GCS three-humbucker '61 LP/SG Custom reissue and there was all kinds of cool shit going on, particularly with clean tones. I was tempted to talk its owner into replacement four-conductor 'buckers and using push-pull knobs for coil taps, just to set a record for available on command tones in one guitar LOL

Jeff - what's the diff between the FW Ultra and the regular FW switch?  I'm seriously looking at one of those for my 3-pickup LP Custom...

This is The most flexible control for any 3 pickup setup.

For an LP, I’d use the 5-way blade, and go 3-Volume wth a Master Tone.

if I was doing any 3 p/u guitar build with traditional 2-vol 2-Tone layout that’s what I’d do.

I thought of an alternate wiring scheme for 3-pickup designs by adding a DPDT mini Toggle with Center off.

After you mount the mini Toggle and you have the control cavity open and facing you:

Wire the center p/u wires to the center pair of switch lugs

Wire the top pair of switch lugs to the bridge volume center lug and can.

Wire the bottom pair of switch lugs to the neck volume center lug and can.

Switch up routes the center p/u to the neck volume.

Switch Center is middle p/u off

Switch down routes the middle p/u to the bridge volume.

Toggle up +  mini switch center = neck onlyToggle up +  mini switch center = neck only

Toggle up + mini up = neck + middle w/Master volume

Toggle up + mini up = neck + middle w/separate  volumes

Toggle middle + mini middle = neck and bridge.

Toggle middle + mini up or down = all three ( master volume assign depends on mini switch position )

Toggle down + mini switch center = bridge only

Toggle down + mini switch up = Middle and bridge w/individual volumes.

Toggle down + mini switch down = Middle and bridge w/ master volume

And know it’s time for my morning coffee.

The in put jack is cutting in and out. Is there a way to fix the contacts like you can on a Switchcraft type of input jack? It's the barrel Jack Hamer used on these.

This happens a lot when you use a Chinese made 1/4” plug in a switchcraft jack.

The Chinese copies aren’t exactly to 1/4” standard specs.

They're shorter and narrower.

The better quality Neutrik and Switchcraft 280 plug fit the

Switchcraft barrel jack without any problems.

I use American made cable. It's definitely the jack.

Here you go:

https://www.markertek.com/product/sw151/switchcraft-151-1-4-inch-2-conductor-female-chassis-mount-jack

$6.03 and shipping is free.
