mmmm why a guard at all?

Maybe not.  I didn’t think I wanted one m when I put it toghether.  Maybe I need to play it more and look at it less.

Black knobs, no guard.  IMO, gold knobs would make the guitar look pale, without any contrast to offset the fretboard color.  Plus, black knobs would be easier to see/read when playing.

This.

All right.  Black knobs for now.  It does have a black truss rod cover and the black bobbins so I think that fits well   Though those black and gold knobs might have to be sourced.

One ne reason I thought of a pickguard was to hide the seams of the neck.  Luckily it’s maple also so they don’t stand out much.  I’m gonna stick with no extra plastic on my guitar for now

Thanks for everyone’s help.

What is that exactly?

You mean the guitar? It’s a precision guitars kit I put together.  They are located in Vancouver BC and make kits with quality woods.
