Bloozguy
Just read this. So sad. A real part of the original Fleetwood Mac sound
Willie G. Moseley
His Les Paul tone was frightfully close to Peter Green's, and it is said that what some fans think are Green licks on certain songs are actually Kirwan--a primary reason the Boston Tea Party live material + Then Play On should be indispensable listening for electric blues guitarists. However he came to be damaged, it's said that he was unable to overcome his status...and apparently, he didn't want to. And I'm not so sure Peter Green has overcome his own damage (at least musically), for that matter...
Jakeboy
This is sad. Kirwan had a vibrato that was equal to Kossof’s in its uniqueness. It is instantly identifiable. It is what set him apart from Greenie, well that and Greenie’s nasal out of phase tone and his super emotional blues playing....You can really hear it on the live versions of Oh Well. Crazy wild vibrato. I wonder if Angus was listening...? He never pulled out of the downward spiral his life took. That is just so sad.
