graham.mcdonald86
Hi All, I'm looking at a Hamer Special FM from 1996 and was curious if anyone here new anything about the neck carve on these things? I've never seen or played one in person so I thought you guys would know 🙂 Thanks, Graham
DaveL
Hi Graham, a 96 would be slightly fuller than those made in '93 but not quite full as the profiles Hamer did in the later 90's...  I seem to recall a few 98's or 99's but I don't think they made many in the late 90's... crunchee
I've had several mid-'90s Hamers in the past, including Special FMs. I called that particular size neck the 'Goldilocks' neck, not too thin, not too thick, just a right-sized neck for the average hand, with very little if any variation at that time that I know of. Shredders might have had thinner necks, but I'm referring to Specials/Special FMs/Studios/Artists of the mid-'90's, plus two '96 Standards that I had...basically they all had the same medium-sized 'Goldilocks' neck profile.
