New acquisition: 2 Scepter

Recommended Posts

Looking at the photo of those two specimens, I realized that although I love the look of boomers on almost anything Hamer, they really do look most natural on the Scepter body shape. A perfect match.

You know, it's not every day you see two Scepters together.

In fact, I never have.  Let's look again, shall we?

Finding one much less 2 of those in decent playing condition IS a real score. Congrats! Very Cool !

What pickups would you suggest for the black and red one?

It has EMG 81/58 right now, but I don't like them...

Does the white one sound good?  If so, put whatever it has in the black one.

That's very awesome! Just curious, where were you able to find them? Was it a local sale, word of mouth, or somewhere online? Great score. Anyone know how many of those Scepters they made? You don't really ever see them for sale very often.

I'm looking for a capacitor like this to put in the black & red one. Anyone knows what type/value this is, and where I could find one?

CDE is the original manufacturer (cornell-dubilier electronics) and the in-spec variance is 10%.  The more critical info is probably on the other side, voltage(max) and cap value itself.  Looks like an axial polyester film cap.

Where?  If common, guitar parts online.  If not, some place like Mouser.

Thanks, this is something I'll need to investigate!

I’ve got a couple at .047mfd if that’s what you need. The lack of black stripe on yours makes me wonder if yours may be a .022.

Thanks! I'll try to have a closer look at the one in the B&W guitar.
