Ting Ho Dung
Check out Pete Townshand's pickups in the 335. Bridge PU is reversed. Any story behind it?
RobB
No story. The orientation of the pickup has no effect on the sound. It's the flipped magnet in the rhythm pickup that gives that sound. They're lip-synching, anyway.

I am aware of the flipping of the mag in the Peter Green mod. My question was why was Pet Townshand's bridge pickup turned backwards?
RobB
I dunno. To spark controversy on guitar discussion boards?

I'm aware of this too. I guess I'm asking something along the order of Gibson QC. Was this from factory mistake or did they turn them this way in the early days? Or would it have been Townshand who turned it? It takes a bit of effort to turn them because of those darn ring springs so someone either made a mistake and was too lazy to change it to factory spec or someone did it intentionally. So was Pete known for tinkering? I liked, "Live at Leeds," when I was a kid but never got into any of their other albums so I know nothing about the band. Thundersteel
Did anyone else notice the instruments weren't plugged in?

HamerDave
I’ve found that not plugging in really changes my tone. My air guitar, a vintage one owner Queef Deluxe, sounds best unplugged....
