Brownsound
Interesting article if you do a search with Google about dead spots in guitar necks. Apparently its all about complimentary resonances in the neck of the guitar. The body has little to do with whether or not a guitar has dead spots and how many. It also says that there is a "live" spot in contrast to the dead spot, a spot that has super sustain. They said that you can move the dead spot by putting mass on the headstock. Since its about resonance of the neck, would it follow that tightening the truss rod would also change the resonence of the neck and therefore move the dead spot?I know that you just dont make adjustments to the trussrod unless the neck needs it but and out of adjustment neck could make a guitar sound like crap could it not, based on this theory?
