  1. An LP, parachute pants and aircraft windshield specs. What's not to swoon over
  2. There it is! I knew I'd seen the shape before. Also possibly on some Supro/Airline cheapo of the day.
  3. I know it's like putting lipstick on a pig but IF I were to spring for one of these, I'd also spring for a set of Steinberger tuners.
  4. I've always had a soft spot for FB's, particularly via johnny Winter's V and Steve Stills' 1. and when these FB 1's showed up I got all excited, but not *that* excited. The banjo tuners have always made me leery too.
  5. Wow!, Great score! I saw that one advertised and was disheartened that it was halfway around the world. There's some stuff called Ozium over here that is a good deodorizer. Or try leaving it out in the sun open for a few days.
  6. Yep. More overall volume and clean headroom as well as a bit more top end on tap, over the midrange-forward nature of tweed amps.
  7. Steve, I'd have to say medium. For some reason I had a handful of '93's and a couple of them were definitely skinnier than this one.
  8. Gotta rip another band-aid off. This was my very first Hamer. Even though I'd seen and fondled some of the very first Standards, the guitar, the money and I didn't wind up all in the same place until this one came along. It a '93 in very good condition with some minor honest play wear, polish swirls, etc. It's completely stock except for a switch to Schaller strap locks. My go-to "something with humbuckers" for 30 years. Hate to see it go. PLUS, it has the uber-cool uber-rare checkerboard TKL case. Offered here first for an HFC good buddy price. $1,250 plus actual ship. Cash, MO, PayPal F&F (only). CONUS only. Hit me here or at: tomteriffic1952ATwohDOTrrDOTcom Feel free to ask questions.
  9. This medicine is getting 'spensive. Gratuitous bump.
  10. Since I first saw one of those, just like that one, it has been my dreamboat "one of these days" guitar.
  11. From experience... I used a Loudbox Mini Charge for a number of casual things, farmer's markets and the like, mostly outdoors where the idea was to "waft" over a parking lot. Up close it was reasonably loud and very intelligible. I also used a Trace Elliot all in one pedalboard, powered by a Volto battery pack. For inside stuff such as the things you mentioned, I'd think it would be all you'd need since your audience would be 1) inside and 2) up close. Top tip: put it up on a folding chair or similar, just for better dispersion. OH and a big Plus to Guitars For Vets. I don't know if he still does it, but Dean Zelinsky used to make a G4V model where, if you bought one, a vet got one free. Pretty good guitar too.
  12. Ditto the Subway Rocket first version. Never should have let that one go.
