  3. The easy estimate calculation is to take the total amp rating of your circuit breaker panel and divide that figure by 8 for Kilowatts. So, a 60 amp service would require a 7.5kW supply, and a 100 amp service would require 12.5kW. Those figures assume you are consuming a full 60 or 100 amps! The reality is that you're likely using much less than this and could probably get away with a smaller generator. What you could try is pull out your SaskPower bills and look at your monthly consumption in kilowatt-hours; if you're lucky they'll have the usage broke down by day, otherwise divide

  4. Guilty.... 2007 (first year) Fender 52’ Hot Rod Telecaster. Hmmm, sideways...even if I rotate it on my phone first Grrrrrr. Well you guys get the idea, besides its under 7lbs and has a great acoustic voice....that's all you care about anyway ?

  5. I can't believe this hasn't been mentioned yet. https://brianmay.com/brian/brianssb/brianssbmay20a.html#02 I managed to rip my Gluteus Maximus to shreds in a moment of over-enthusiastic gardening. So suddenly I find myself in a hospital getting scanned to find out exactly how much I’ve actually damaged myself. Turns out I did a thorough job - this is a couple of days ago - and I won’t be able to walk for a while ... or sleep, without a lot of assistance, because the pain is relentless.

  9. Saw one like it for $150 on eBay. Kind of pointless to leave the label and cap to keep higher value, best if someone used it. But think I will sell it as is since I don't play much slide and would rather break a $10 glass slide than this one. Or give it to someone like Derrick Trucks if I could meet him and hang a bit.

  12. Agree, The logo size looks off too. I don’t think the letters normally get obscured by tuner washers.

  14. I had read it with a smile. It could have been prevented if the EU tour would have been started. We have tickets for Antwerp. So, yes, this is COVID-19 collateral damage.

  18. That’s the one Hamer I wish I could get. It was a project Jol let me run with. I did all the CAD/CAM work and tooling. Damn. edited to add that Chris’s template doesn’t show the real beauty of that guitar “under the hood”. Obviously it’s the second one from the right. That is NOT Rick’s Tbolt next to it. You can see the point of that one is much different.

  20. Ok, this is going to be a long term bench project. So, don’t expect frequent updates. But, I’ve decided to do an esquire project. I’ve got 90% of it planned out so I’ve got time to make changes as I go. Talked to josh @JGravelin and I’m gonna have him wind me the pickup. My brother got the wood for the body and made the rough cuts. I was originally thinking of just doing a Tung oil over the raw ash, but I’m also considering a stain and grain filler to make it pop a bit more. Gonna go with a joe barden 3-saddle bridge. Haven’t decided if I want to do the esquire wiring with volume/ton

  21. Check the antique market first. Like crunchee says, that label is something guitar players never see. Somebody was selling new slides made like Coricidin bottles. The real ones get listed on eBay for high prices. If you ain't Duane, that slide still won't make you Duane.

  22. the rig du jour (with obligatory dog beds lol) - 83 Ibby AS80 into Wampler Ego Compressor into LP Eternity D-Mod into LP low gain Mosferatu into baby Boogie. The Ibby has a 59/JB set I put in about 30 years ago (when I bought it there was the stock pickup in the neck but an X2N in the bridge so it was a little unbalanced), and that combo really works in this guitar. I was working on the riff for ST's "You Can't Bring Me Down" (without the pedals) while mrs stonge was just shakin' her head saying it sounded right but that wasn't the right guitar for that tone lol. The D-Mod is a little gritt

  27. I suspected that was the one you were asking about. There is an untold story there, and I'm guessing it doesn't have a happy ending. Either way, there should be a "USA" there, to answer your original question.

  29. https://www.tone-kraft.com/bar-magnets/ TK is my current source for bobbins and mags and stuff, but I'm shopping for another. TK stuff is stellar, but get ready to pace like an expectant father. Their turn times are wishywashy and unpredictable, they are hit and miss answering their phone and e-mails. I can't play that crap running a shop and catering to clients.

  34. Yamaha MODX-88 is my buddy Steve's choice. It does everything well. The Mellotron, Mini-Moog and horn/strings sounds are just stellar. There's a smaller version with fewer bells and whistles that he brings to practice. If you'd have told me that one machine could do all this just ten years ago, I'd have called bullshit. We play 25 or 6 to 4 by Chicago. You'd swear there was a horn section. Incredible unit for less than 2K.

  41. My standby Gibson Howard Roberts moves from general purpose guitar to straight jazz box with a change to flats (D'Addario Chromes, to be specific). I keep a set lying around just in case someone needs a completely incompetent jazz faker to sit in. CAVEAT: not even remotely tolerable with gain - lots of weird overtones (undertones?) that (inconceivably) make me sound even worse! Could be the choice of Chromes - only ones I've tried.

  42. Flats are a warmer tone. Love on the jazz box and fretless bass.
