  1. #0091 - DC Custom Offset Semi-hollow, sage pearl metallic. Honduras mahogany neck & body, spruce top, ebony fingerboard. The color and depth of the finish is really tough to capture, but it's a touch greener and more metallic IRL than in the pics. It's fantastic, far exceeded my expectations (as expected), and feels like an old friend in my hands. I've got to go back to playing a bit to further develop my impressions, but thought I'd give a quick show and tell. More to follow soon!

  2. The practice amp thread came along at the right time for me. I was looking at the Yamaha THR line as something I could use while the wife and child were still in bed. I’ma morning person. Up at 4:30am on work days. Sleep in until maybe 6:00Am on weekends. That gives me a solid 3 hours or so on my own 2-3 days/week. Enter the practice amp... ordered yesterday, arrived today. If I can’t get to it tomorrow then definitely on Friday. Stay tuned...

  3. Some friends invited me into their KX project, we recorded this in another friends basement last week (I'm in the back behind the water heater, ha); https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RwbfgU-AyMdZVbajaGd4vfEpKC5ugegm/view?fbclid=IwAR22xLbaLhElxDzMhJJZtrFNG40pdplaEdUd9ZP3KzmUTFFk1_7LziwPWLw

  6. Always keep at least 6 ft. from your amp and the camera lens. Always wear a mask and gloves to protect your Hamer. Always use "Hamer Guitars Approved" cleaning wipes after every practice.

  7. Holy crap! EVERYTHING about this is stunning. This should be a regular thing!

  8. Interesting. Reminds me of Trey Anastasio's Languedoc.

  10. Those British units went to a Welsh dealer, thus it's not a Diablo LE, but rather a Diawl LE. I jest, I jest. But that would have been pretty cool. OK, seriously, I'm interested to know the answer to this one, as well. The older I get, the more I prefer a two-pickup config with a three-way toggle switch.

  12. Yeah, but they got that Peavey stank on 'em. Which is not a good stank.

  13. Yeah, you lost me at "Peavey." Anyone who puts Peavey knobs on their Shishkov (and that includes you, @BadgerDave) is legally, spiritually and morally bound to return the guitar to Mike and Trish.

  14. Very nice! But get the bassist a Hamer 12-string...😁

  15. I bought two AllParts Volume knobs on one Reverb sale and one AllParts Tone knob on another Reverb sale. They aren't "correct", but they're way better than Gibson's pathetic attempt on this killer guitar. Thanks to all. You guy's never disappoint.

  16. There was definitely some deliberation on both sides, but this early concept shape held promise, and the leap of faith was taken.

  17. I didn't know about it! Definitely. I think the 1st time me, JackC, & Rockola hung was a KX gig in Charlotte about 10 or 15 years ago. Thx for the kind words guys. The studio camera timed out after the 1st tune, so I made this half-assed video to play you guys the best 2 tunes from that day. We are going to tweak the mix and maybe redo some of the other tunes that didn't come out as good. We sound even better in rehearsal, seems we got the ol' red light fever, ha.

  21. Hard to believe that we're now three pages into this thread, and not one person has mentioned this dirge, which was written in D minor, the saddest of all keys.

  22. How about just leave the fucking knobs on 10, like you're supposed to!

  23. Also repug. Same rule applies as above.

  24. If you have access to a drill press, stick the knobs on thin dowels and put them in the press just like a drill bit upside down. Turn on the press and dig a small file's edge into the spinning knob to create a uniform groove in and around the knob. Put black rubber o-rings in the grooves.

  25. Love mine- so convenient, and they sound great for being so small! I've had a 5 for years, and picked up a 10 last year. Worth checking out the editor app as well, if.interested in tailoring the presets.

  26. I'll let you guys know how it is. I had a $70 credit at GC so I ordered it. Cost me $5 at checkout.

  28. Yeah and the thing is, in the videos he shows many different artists' songs and a variety of styles and tones, all on a single guitar. We all want a guitar or in my case, a bass that could do that, Something that you could take to a gig and not have to switch out just because it's wrong for the next song. The video highlighted both the guitarist And the guitar.

  29. Lol, HIWATT! I would say check out Reeves and Hi-Tone https://hi-tone-amps.com/products/cabinets/ http://www.reevesamps.com/cabinets/guitar-cabinets/ I think, I would lean toward hi-tone, but that is only my opinion, not my ears. Old Fanes sound great, but Gilmour used WEM be speakers, ymmv. I have found nothing sounds better than old speakers, but, they can be as fickle as a 1968 Alfa Romeo Spider. New quality speakers are like a Mazda Miata, all around great and reliable, but not like an Alfa, when it works. I have 2 Fan

  34. Oh, wow.... That’s got a whole lot going on that I like. Looks like a great blend of modern and vintage. And being semi hollow, the acoustic voice must be what dreams are made of.

  36. perhaps a reversible mod would fall within's @kizanski's rigid spec. https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/easy-way-to-make-sure-grip-knobs-out-of-top-hat-knobs.1712509/ (and yes, I'm expecting further kiz demerits for linking a TGP thread.)

  39. Back in April, my buddy Mike convinced me to make a Strat for him. I was neck-deep in other projects, but I finally got started on it in June. Not sure if I mentioned it earlier, but when I started my first Strat project, I made two necks. So, I was able to save some work for Mike's guitar. I was hesitant to build an instrument for anyone else to buy, so we agreed that he would just pay my actual material costs. It would let me gain some experience and he might get a decent guitar out of the deal. To keep costs down, I had him choose wood from material that I had on hand. He loved the lo

  40. I've been angling to get a Hydrasynth since it blew onto the scene last Sept. Popped out of nowhere (albeit project lead is an industry scion). New company (ASM) with unheard of mature beta keyboard -and- desktop models; shipped within 4 months. Powerfull in terms of capability, but the interface is very intuitive. Yes, I've downloaded the manuals. Have been close to getting one a couple times already, but hit a finding rut each time. Was about to order one on Thursday; the day it was back in stock at Sweetwater after a month. Wouldn`t you know you it, my computer blew up on me Wed

  41. "Under Pressure" gets me sometimes. But the my ultimate tear jerker song is "Cats in the Cradle", Harry Chapin. I lost my little brother Brian in July. Was only 42. I can't imagine how my dad feels now if and when he hears this song. -Bobby
