I just got a Studio and the pickups didn't sound quite right. I took off the cavity plate and there has been some wiring mods done. Not sure what the purpose of the mods were, compressed the sound too much. I've looked at the schematic on this site but I'd feel a little bit better if I had a...

I have a Hamer Studio on the way and was wondering if the vintage style pickups with the longer flanges will fit (Fralins/Voodoo's)? I seem to remember reading that you need to go with a shallower pickups(Duncans). Can somebody fill me in?

Looking for one of the newer ones. Somewhere in the price range of $1500-$1700 Not going to be a collector piece. I'm going to gig the hell out of it.
