You're right, I know nothing of Hamer's current profitability or how much their import line contributes to their bottom line, but I look at more recent small-shop success stories that would be directly comparable to Hamer (like Huber and Gadow for example. I don't follow the truly cork-sniffer...

Awareness doesn't = sales until the $$ catches up. And while it is probaly true that many of those youngsters who pined for that PRS or LP will go that route when they age (nostalgia purchase), there will be others who will seek quality and personalization above all else and find what they need...

"Collectible" is a tricky thing to define, but here is my take. First, I think that younger players can desire whatever they want, but most kids are not going to be able to pony up the $$$ for a new Hamer, so the only option is the used market - where the Hamer stuff competes VERY well...

Not everyone follows the same path, or has the same priorities, or seeks growth and influence - thank God! Jol has done it HIS way, and owes no apologies IMHO. Z
