  1. The neck/back of the headstock have also been refinished - not just the body. The original serial # stamp is gone and something else - assuming the correct number - was redone, hence the odd font.
  2. Depending upon the years, but absolutely. Most 4-Digits in clean original condition are bringing near or beyond the $10k price point all day long.
  3. Unless it was bandsawed, stripped and rattlecanned, then covered in skate stickers by a theivin’ bostid…
  4. Same here. Although as mentioned, the Grovers v. Schallers are a clue…
  5. Or…and hear me out on this theory…he ordered an inbound Sunburst before Hamer released the Special as a production model. The Grovers, if original, would support that.
  6. I'm a fan of the USA DG Models, and was surprised at how decent the SE versions were.
  7. Not ever had that problem…
  8. That looks a LOT like my old cherry red one, but mine was a 1993. Somebody’s gonna be pissed if they buy that and find out it isn’t a “One Piece Neck Thought”. I mean, none of it is ANY of that! 😂 Check to see if he ships first, since the ad states “Local Pickup Only” and seller is in NY State.
  9. I am 1,000 times more interested in the prospect of a cool Epiphone FB V than whatever the hell those amps are all about. THAT would get my attention far more these days. Awaiting the NAMM report…
  10. In all fairness, it was a Sabre Saw to an Ibanez Destroyer. 😉
  11. My twin brother owned that for a while. He had gotten a pic of it hanging in the Hamer shop on a drying rack, and months later, that exact guitar popped up for sale for cheap.
  12. They are fantastic guitars, and Terry is a good dude. I just don’t dig most of the models. The headstocks and bodies…not my thang.
  13. 2005 in Jazzburst.
  14. They pulled those from stacks of bodies. The finishes were done based upon the orders, or in extremely rare cases an opaque finish was used if there was a mistake or the one piece veneer wouldn’t look as good with a trans finish. The veneers were about the thickness of a piece of construction paper.
  15. That shim wasn’t used on Sustainblock bridges. That was used on the precursor to the SB bridge, which was essentially a MightyMite hardtail Strat bridge. That’s one of the reasons Sustainblock bridges are considerably thicker.
  16. I’ll try to check around this weekend. I had both, but not 100% sure if they’re here or in my Chapparal case up in Barkhamsted, CT.
  17. Almost ALL Specials had the maple veneer cap. Even. OST of the opaque finished ones.
  18. Which is one consonant too many to be correct.
