  1. When my buddy worked up there, Gretchen Wilson was still in house band. She could sing her ass already by then, which was why years later when I caught a clip of her doing "Barracuda" with AIC, I wasn't surprised. She had a cannon of a voice. Some cringe hit singles, but she was legit good.
  2. Man, I have some stories about that place. One of my friends was head of security there back when we were all in college at MTSU.
  3. Thickest neck I own, and I have a Les Paul Trad that I used to consider a baseball bat. But this - this is a baseball bat.
  4. Don't list that Charvel here. I'm fragile.
  5. I wouldn't say it's a resolution as much as the most obvious 12-month period to take a break. Plus, I didn't say, "I'm going to concentrate less on buying and more on actually playing what I own," because we all know that is bullshit, lol.
  6. This year, I'm making a serious go at buying no new guitars or amps. I've sold two amps and a guitar in the last two weeks with another one still up for sale. I finally looked at how much I have outstanding on gear, and after a down year of gigging, working PayPal credit to keep that six months always six months away, and so on, it all seems a little ridiculous, particularly the amps. In the last six months, I sold my Marshall SC20 800, SV20 Plexi, and 2555x Silver Jube. I hung on to the Vintage Modern because there were only so many made, and I think they are amazing amps. Otherwise, if a Splawn Quickrod, SuperSport 22, Friedman JEL 20, or said Marshall can't get it done, it doesn't need to be did. I'm hopeful that I can hang on to the Richie Kotzen Tele and my old Ibanez 560 I brought back to life, but we shall see. One is a great gig workhorse, and the other is the best damned office beater guitar $600 could buy, but I have also enjoyed making room. The Les Pauls, Charvel/Jackson, and Hamer/Shishkov stuff are all on the keepers list. I don't have any from those brands that I wouldn't miss terribly if I sold them. The only two exceptions are if I happen to see my 1996 G&L Legacy on Reverb that was a high school graduation gift, I plan to buy it back. I may also buy a Talladega depending on how my taxes end up and if I end up with a promotion at work. Those are two ongoing projects that stretch back a couple of years now though. Like a vampire living off vermin, I'm aim to have to scratch my new gear itches with accessories this year, and there is no loop hole for cabinets either. I failed at this miserably in 20 and 21 and don't even think I tried in 22 or 23, but this year is the year. Anyone else on the no amps/guitars/cabs wagon this year?
  7. My three big revelations this year were the JEL 20, the Quickrod, and the pickups I bought from @JGravelin. I think the Lovepedal Vibronaut gets an honorable mention. I think with my old, now Gravelin Equipped Les Paul Custom, that Vibe pedal, a delay, and an my trusty EP Boost that is always on, I can do about any damn thing I want through either of those amps. I have more stuff, but that's all essential.
  8. It really is. If you look at it at an angle, there is a definite lavender sparkle. Most balanced HSS I've ever played.
  9. I was doing pretty well until this fella caught my eye on Reverb. The shop also had a payment portal that didn't include shipping or sales tax. It was a floor demo, so I basically got it new for $1k off. I also have a Jake E. Lee Charvel incoming. Because I am apparently a whore for Charvels. I also bought this SG, but I am currently trying to sell it. I buy SGs from time to time only to remember I don't really like them that much.
  10. It's back. I've no patience for buyers on Reverb with no feedback and aren't members of the site. If I can't even send you an email via their system, my default is that it is some kind of scam these days.
  11. If I'm not mistaken, that could be because below $800, there are no duties to charge. https://www.cbp.gov/newsroom/national-media-release/de-minimis-value-increases-800
  12. Willing to do this for $950 Shipped CONUS w/PayPal or Venmo friends and family. I think that will still shake out ahead of what I would net on Reverb, and it's about as good a deal as anyone will find on one of these.
  13. I wonder if Steve Harris fucks in a gallop. I was listening to Iron Maiden today, and for some reason, that thought just cracked me up.
  14. Bump. I'm open to reasonable offers. I really don't want to go the Reverb route unless I have to.
  15. Definitely the Fulltone. Trower has used a Deja Vibe 2 (and I think still does), which this basically is with an added treadle for adjusting the speed with your foot.
