  1. It's actually the same finish as ultimates 16 and 41. It's funny how different they all look from each other though. The tops themselves really influence what the end color will look like.
  2. Sent this one out last week....
  3. A little morning sun in the shop...
  4. Time to get going on the next few while the last group spends some time on the drying rack.
  5. nothing like a little oil to make these tops pop.
  6. Got a couple of cool packages in today. The new custom fit cases finally arrived, and they fit like a glove. Decided to stick with the burgundy interior, but went with a more vintage tweed look for the exterior.
  7. back to some shop pics.....
  8. one of the first ones with a bound headstock, it's going to look even cooler once I add the triangle accent.
  9. These 2 look very cool together
  10. As these first few CO builds have started to take shape it kind of struck me just how different each one really is. It's cool how slight tweaks can take the build in such a different direction.
  11. This one is going to be one bad ass guitar when it's done. It's so cool when the parts start to come together.
  12. Time for a bit of routing, and to attach a few fingerboards
  13. I picked up a hook blade.
  14. So sad and shocked to hear about this. Annette was such a sweetheart, she took me under her wing and was always so helpful and nice to me. Love that her signature is so prominent on the case for my korina V. My thoughts are with her family.
  15. After working on pointy guitars for so long, it's kind of fun working on something a bit curvy. woodworker geak alert: so, I decided to try out a new style of blade for my band saw, and man, it cuts these body blanks like they were butter - sometimes it's the small things that just kind of make your day. A little something different on this one
  16. Time to start book matching a few tops and do a bit of work on the headstocks for a few of the upcoming builds.
  17. Took a little down time when Jackass stopped by the shop recently, was fun catching up. Love this guy, miss working with him.
  18. Now that I have the fingerboards slotted, time to get to work on the necks...
  19. With the last few ultimates off to the spray booth, it's time to rock the COs - so let's have some fun...
  20. That is a Shinto Saw Rasp (minus the handle). They can remove material efficiently and allow a high degree of control. The spaces allow the chips to clear. You can buy them here http://www.woodcraft.com/Product/151297/9-Shinto-Saw-Rasp.aspxThanks B. We called it japanese file.
  21. And for my left handed friends.......
  22. Blending necks is always fun, just the like the old days. I am sure you have seen this before . Man, didn't realize I can move this fast:
