After 30 years of working with different woods, it still amazes me how each piece has its own personality and beauty. I just wish the lighting did the tops in these shots justice, they are simply beautiful.

After a nice Thanksgiving weekend..... back to work!

I wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! Trish and I are so grateful for all of the support and enthusiasm. You guys rock!

The initial run was expanded to 25 Ulitmates. Due to the the huge demand, I decided to extend the offer to the others that put in orders on that inital day, and these additional Ultimates are part of the second run. There will be a total of 48 special run Ultimates.

The shape of the head stock for the Ultimates will be different from others builders. I personally like the vintage look, which is what I am going for with this.

Thanks for the ongoing support! The overall start up has taken longer than originally expected. Lead times on wood orders have been very long, but am happy that everything has started to arrive. Have had some issues with the shop setup, the all important shaper was lost in freight neverland for a while, and suddenly appeared today in a very damaged condition. The driver reported that that was how it was loaded onto his truck. WTF. I know that I there are quite a few people waiting for quote request responses, and I (with the help of my wife) will try to finish getting responses out by the end of the weekend. Once the initial Ultimates are under way, I plan to run custom orders along side the Ultimates. Once again, thank you Ted, Chris and Steve - your help has been awesome!

Update.......... A lot of custom request's to go through. Prototype is going out on Monday to get the custom pickups tested. The first neck blanks, just like the good old times!!

Very exciting week at the Shishkov Shop. Electrician was here and powered everything up. My wife is going to kill me when she sees the next electric bill. Curly maple tops are on the way. will post some pics when they come in. Logos came in from a very good friend of ours who has been making logos for my brother for a long time. Holy crap does it take a long time to get a hold of some suppliers. I really miss my scmi pin router, but this is my new friend that I am going to get to know very well. a mahogany block from my special stash, but a whole lot more is on the way. Spindle sander is ready to go! Oh yeah, and the logos More updates to come shortly. Have a great 4th of July weekend and thanks for your support!

Update from the Shishkov Shop: Been a busy week. Paperwork and more paperwork. Mahogany blanks coming out of the kiln next week. Maple tops on order. Supplier of the maple has stuff that blows my mind. Thank you for all of your support!

I am working through the overwhelming number of requests that have been submitted and will be in touch with everyone in the next day or so. I am excited about this new venture! It seems it took five years to finish it...

After I got back home a little after 9:00 am on that black Tuesday my first two phone calls I received were from Jol and Frank. Jol had a lot of suggestions and encouragement and Frank ( even though I'm not sure what I'm going to do) offered to do all he could to help me with getting a job. In addition to working with great guys, I had great guys I worked for !!!! Thank you Frank, Jol, Steve W. and Mike Q.
