  1. Not quite, ladies. Hamer is not making STOCK instruments at this point. They are still making CUSTOM ORDER instruments. Let's not get ahead of ourselves.
  2. ...until last night...... Liquid Metal guitars sent me this so that I could play it at last night's gig... ...and I can say that I am BLOWN AWAY. Killer neck, killer fretwork and the carved out aluminum body WORKS. The Duncans are perfect in this guitar. As a wood snob, I expected it to be brash and brittle sounding. I was a James Trussart dealer for a while, and dismissed these guitars as the same thing. Boy, was I wrong. It's resonant as hell and a wonderful sounding and feeling guitar. Are we going to have to start talking tonemetals? The surface is smooth as glass with the texture milled into it and then a clearcoat(the same stuff Mercedes uses on their alloy wheels!) is applied. In the stage lights, it looks like it's alive. More details soon.
  3. Mann dicked me over a few times in the past. He can sit on his parts. Gotoh, baby, Gotoh.
  4. If that were true, the headstocks would say "Dantzig". There was a guy named.....uh...oh,yeah.... Paul Hamer that started the company.
  5. The USA Guild's are now produced in the same facility that houses Hamer USA. In fact, some of the Hamer boys are helping out with the transition and that may be contributing to this. There is only so much talent to go around and that talent might be focused on Guild right now instead of Hamer USA. These rumors of Hamer USA closing, getting bought out, etc existed long before Fender owned them. Until we hear something from Hamer I'm inclined to believe this is a temporary shift in focus. I bet once the warehouse is cleared out and Guild is up and running it will be business as usual. edited to add - If these rumors are coming from sales reps on the street take it with a grain (block) of salt. I've been in that position. Usually they are too far removed to know what is really going on. My info is from the top brass. I applaud KMC for NOT closing Hamer. 10 years ago, you couldn't sell a Hamer to the average customer, they didn't know or care about the brand. Now, the attempt to make Hamer a "boutique" brand by raising prices to PRS and Huber levels has backfired. When the company figures out where they fit, times will hopefully get better. Until then.......
  6. WAY off base, and stupid to say in any situation. I would love to tell you more, but suffice it to say that this is not directly a Fender decision. Hamer is owned by KMC, and THEY have the power. Let's stop making rash statements and sit back and see what happens.
  7. Hamer is no longer producing stock models. The 100+ unsold guitars up in New Hartford have shown that the public is not interested in any more 59 Burst Studio Customs. They ARE taking in custom orders, though most of the requests that we have made have been priced over what we consider an acceptable amount. You would think that they would encourage business, but so far it has not been the case. We will see what happens. More change is afoot, nothing is solid right now.
  8. J Geils offered me a killer 1959 Les Paul in dark burst at the Philly show in 1995 for the very cool price(at the time) of $23k. I still look at the pics and cry.
  9. BWAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  10. I don't EVEN want to start posting in this thread.......(hides head in hands and sobs.....)
  11. Pro refin to Seafoam Green Pearl a long time ago. Superlight, medium neck, original case. Currently has a Rio Grande Dirty Harry pickup in the bridge position, original in the case. Upraded output jack as well. Rare and damn cool. $1899
  12. I just posted as "Henry's conscience". I doubt it will be left up.
  13. IF you need shielding, use foil. The paint works well if you build up a good thick layer, but the time needed to ensure complete coverage is better served using foil. The Lowe's stuff is stupid cheap and works great. Solder a ground wire to it and you are golden.
  14. That's the only minibucker one from my run of 6.
  15. Another one...
  16. Ultimate Quilt.
  17. You never sent me the deposit that we had yet to agree on.
  18. I had 6 of the 30ths. And 5 of the 25ths.... The only green one, now property of Butcher... SirDan's red one along with the Salmon Blush and Green ones.... A traffic signal like no other...
  19. Stevie Clay uses Newports that I dropped Rios in. Stevie KNOWS.
  20. Jay, you get prettier by the day...
  21. The third pickup was added. It had the Dual sound in the bridge and some crap pickups in it when it came in on trade, so I put in the Virtual Vintage PAFs to keep the 70's hot rod look. Killer guitar, light and resonant with a wide/shallow neck.
