Replica. Gibson would never put tuners on upside down in the 1950's. NOW, they might, but back then they did a good job. I've seen a few of those guitars in my day.

That tuner took a shot. That's from the head hitting the end of the case. Loosen the string, loosen the 10 mm nut on the front of the tuner shaft, straighten and tighten down. We used to see this a lot, I yelled and stamped my feet(along with a few other dealers) and got them to upgrade the case to the fitted style.

So there I am in the shower, thinking about this Vector headstock repair that I am starting today. Many of you have seen how we fix "unfixable" guitars, this one will be tough. I am going through the whole operation, clamping angles....which glue to use where, how to save as much finish as I can........when I notice that the shampoo smells funny. So I reach to the shelf where I put the can... CAN!!!!! OH, NOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!! I FURIOUSLY rinse and shampoo with the RIGHT stuff, condition like crazy and...... As I sit here typing, my hair is ANGEL SOFT..... Pay attention EVERYWHERE kids......
