  1. Not surprising the record was in such pristine shape.
  2. Sorry, my bad. I meant, "husks."
  3. How do you figure when the carcasses of said Hamers are the only parts that are original to the guitars?
  4. That's more than I know. I went with what the turntable guy said was a good, mid-line cart. I'm not really an audiophile, as I already have guitars as an expensive avocation. My system sounds great, but all that super-pricey stuff is way out of my wheelhouse. I think the most luxurious components I own are a pair of Cerwin-Vega 217R speakers. They are huge and beastly (not my pair, pics from web search):
  5. I use it with an Ortofon Blue 2M MM cart. Kenwood 3070 turntable.. The only tips I can offer is let it burn-in for appx 48hrs. I don't know what that really does, but it was suggested in the manual. Another tip is to keep it away from any hi-voltage components, like recievers/power amps and power supplies. I moved my Panamax power supply to the bottom shelf, put the cd player in its place and installed the Vincent behind the cd player. I'd prefer to have it next to the Kenwood, but there's not enough room on the shelf.
  6. I use that preamp. It’s a good one. Not sure I can speak to the, “capacitors/musical crescendos”, nonsense, but it is a quality phono pre.
  7. $15, six LPs? A no-brainer. Includes a big booklet with copious liner notes. Schwinnnng!
  8. Stoked to find this. Only two more LPs to complete my Beatles mono list.
  9. Effin' GREAT guitar all over this one. McCartney did a killer cover of, "Honey Hush", on 2000's, "Run Devil Run."
  10. Ted at his, "Motor City Meathead" pinnacle. C'mon, don't smirk. Theodore has forgotten more guitar than most of us know!
  11. A duo of records that are excellent examples of wading through patently awful vocals for the amazing guitar work. If this is the stuff he had in the can for "Lovedrive", it's obvious why he was summarily sacked from Scorpions. However, some of the material sounds strangely like Boston/Kansas, AOR rock! If he found a killer singer and tightened up the rambling, neo-classical guitar shit into actual, you know, songs, he might have actually got some airplay.
  12. Knock-knock? Who's there? Paul Weller. Paul Weller, who? I don't know. What's his problem?
  13. Got this mainly for nostalgia, since I did see the tour in 1982. Turns out it's a pretty good record. A final testament before AC/DC regressed into, "dick-joke", songs...
  14. Loves me sum mid-80s Motorhead. They killed as a 4-piece.
  15. Lars: "What's that defined, low-rumbling sound?" Jason: "Dude! That's the bass." Lars: "The what, now?"
  16. If you don't dig this gem, you're a soulless ghoul. Or, an idiot.
  17. I prefer, "Hardware", but this one is the best AC/DC album ever released by Krokus.
  18. Most folks cite, "Balls to the Wall", but this is the one for me. Consolation prize for, "Breaker", and, surprisingly, "Metal Heart."
  19. Never gave these guys their due when I was young. I liked goofier punk like The Damned, Circle Jerks, Dickies, etc...I appreciate the Pistols now, for some reason.
  20. RSD 2020-List of Releases I am FOOKED this year. Too many cool releases. Many, many, cool releases...
  21. Oops. That’s the Deep Purple/Captain Beyond singer. Rod Price! ROD PRIIIIIICE!!
  22. It’s like Rod Evans is fire, and Lonesome Dave is ice. Together, they make lukewarm water.
