  1. Wow - clear GC pictures! Too bad they're too small to show any helpful detail. It looks pretty in the photos but I fear that - up close and personal - it's a bit rougher all-round (I woke up with that??). You definitely want a hands-on before buying (IMO).
  2. Nope - Firefly P90 Thinline Tele. I have a Daytona that records really well and the Firefly was cheeeeap. If my wife would leave my balls intact I'd buy that 25th Anniversary in a heartbeat. It's a no-brainer for sure.
  3. OK, so I did this for a little over $200: I figure I can slap the Daytona neck on it, route it for a middle pickup, and have my Nashville/Thinline Tele jones cured ....at least temporarily.
  4. I can't even believe this is still available. WTF is wrong with you people??
  5. That's a heartbreaker, for sure. Damn. Not sure if Murkat does this stuff anymore but his work was always spectacular. If the break is clean (and it looks like it from your picture), a DIY project is pretty straightforward. Slowly push it back into place and see how clean the wound is. It may be as simple as Dave's suggestion.
  6. Goddammit you guys! Now I don't even know which one I wanted...or didn't want....or whatever.
  7. That's the one in La Crosse, which is where he started. There's another one in Milwaukee and the new one in Sun Prairie (recently moved there from Fitchburg).
  8. Must have been her day off. Even amongst all that gear I would have noticed that.
  9. I know they get slagged here but a lot of the Epiphones I've picked up in the last 6-8 years have been very good.
  10. They were pretty sparse. And I couldn't tell you what they were. It was like being star-struck but with guitars. Guitar-struck. I just hope I didn't drool too much.
  11. He actually hung on for about an hour, then wandered next door to the drum part of Dave's place. It's no where near what the guitar side is, but they still had plenty of stuff. I didn't get many pictures of that. And he almost bought a kit there - really close - but instead bought a better one today from GC. Jeezus, even drummers get that itch.
  12. And I didn't even get a good picture of looooong line of Blackface Fenders sitting opposite the Blondes. Those were incredible.
  13. Well......no.......not yet, anyways..... ETA: I need somebody here to confirm or deny my accusations about the neck butt and pocket shape, then I'll call. Maybe. ETA Pt 2: Found it! https://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/topic/48085-daytona-and-strattele-neck-comparison-pics/ Thank you, Zen!! And this: https://www.hamerfanclub.com/forums/topic/52245-t-51-neck-vs-daytona-strat-neck/ So, if they didn't hack into the pocket of the BCR Frankentona, it might be a smart buy.
  14. Just the smell of the upstairs screams old gear. It. Was. Amazing. Talked to Dave for about a minute. He laughed when I said being there gave me goosebumps. And it truly was sensory overload. You couldn't possibly absorb the entirety of what you were surrounded by. Beyond guitar-nerd heaven. And I bought......... A t-shirt. Yep. We saw sooooo many great guitars that focusing on any single one to buy just wasn't happening. Never had that happen before. But....we're already planning a return trip.
  15. The T-51 and Daytona use the same neck heel shape - unless I am mistaken - which is the more squared-out Telecaster shape. The Strat neck heel would be more rounded and not fit in the Tele-type pocket on a Daytona correctly. Again - I may be out to lunch on that, but that's how I always understood it.
