  1. That's kinda where I was going. The Tally is a familiar shape, but the Standard headstock and Sustain Block are distinctly Hamer. And the combination is slightly oddball, which is Hamer. The only thing more Hamer is Boomers, and that can't happen for the $$. A slab body keeps the price down (but forearm and tummy cuts would be pretty nice).
  2. Jeez a solid maple Cali is just salt in the wound, isn't it?
  3. How 'bout a Cali? Would it be OK on a Cali?
  4. What kind of commie doesn't like a Standard headstock?!?
  5. Flat-top 'hog Tally with Standard headstock and Sustain Block. Simple and unique.
  6. It's nice to see those Bob Vila videos are paying off.
  7. You've obviously never heard bubs play.
  8. Pedals. I started out with Fender amps and that's probably the biggest reason. I've come close with a couple amps, but they had to be so damn loud to get there, and they weren't ever 'just right'. Plus it's a lot easier/cheaper swapping out a pedal once the honeymoon is over.
  9. Tried listening to some Kiss the other day and failed miserably. But 40 years ago I liked it.
  10. ^ ^ ^ ^ ^ 5 pages in under 24 hours. F**k me right in the ear.
  11. Original Teles and Strats were meant to be cheap guitars that anyone could afford, slapped together on an assembly line. They are now 'Holy Grails'. I always thought it a bit odd that so many boutique builders chase that.
  12. The Microcube is great for practicing wherever whenever. I drag it all over the house. Or outside. Or the shed. I've even recorded with it (not it's strong suit). Otherwise it's a SuperChamp X2. You guys probably haven't heard how I feel about those. But mostly it's unplugged in front of the TV with whatever guitar is handy. Lately it's a Jay Turser electric dobro POS tuned in open G (I think?) and a slide. Rattles and buzzes and sounds nasty. I dig it.
  13. Maybe they're building a really small Strat.
  14. Those are great. The Sustain Blocks - are those Hamer-made or 2FIG or mine or ? Congrats on a monster score.
  15. Chris - there's a helluva echo wherever you are.
  16. I seriously laughed out loud on that one.
  17. Like a flat-top Monaco Elite (kind of a single-cut Special) with optional pickup configurations. It could come standard with a single bridge humbucker, but be routed under the pickguard for a neck and/or middle. Batman's Standard headstock idea would make it stand out. A Sustain Block would be awesome, but they ain't cheap to make. A wraptail would be most cost-effective.
  18. Specials with pickup options. Specials routed for 3 humbuckers, and swappable pickguards with a variety of configurations. Specials with no hardware at all - buyer supplies and installs. I like Specials.
  19. Sorry. That was a typo. It should have said "Awesomest Winners EVER!" Please do it again this year. .....because there's still a couple guitars I want.......
  20. This thread shoulda been called "THE BIGGEST LOSERS"!!!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAQHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!
  21. Hog Standard Hog Studio T-51 25th LTD 3-holer Duotone Newport 5-string Cruise All but the Studio came from you HFC enablers. I thank you all.
  22. A non-trem Prototype is at the top of my current list, followed closely by a non-trem Newport. And maybe a Gretsch....
