  1. You could always hook up to a pair of power speakers at that point ala JBL Eons or the Mackies.
  2. That would be a 4060. I wish I had the extra scratch, I woulda picked it up in a heartbeat for that price.
  3. I love my GT-8. Manual (stompbox) mode is a breeze. Wahs are excellent for as little as I use 'em. Distortions could be a little better. Time-based effects are great. A programable effects loop can make for some interesting setups (See "4 Cable Method") . With the 4CM, you can have your comp/wah/dist though the front of your amp and have the time-based effects through your amp's loop. I just run mine straight into the front of my MK IV and it sounds great. Best sounds are found with some good tweaking.
  4. I thought you were evil with 616 posts these days.
  5. I got a Hot Rails and an Invader I wouldn't know what to offer.
  6. Austin, I've still got the one that came out of it originally. I took it out to try this Invader I got from Rechts, but I think I'll try slapping it back in there. That Invader is just too compressed sounding though my Boogie's lead channel which is mighty compressed to begin with.
  7. It's my number one, go-to guitar. (But man, that Invader has go to go!)
  8. I find myself closing in on this. I care less and less about playing out and actually do not look foward to the hassle involved with lugging crap around and dealing with the whole "club scene". At 40, with a good career, nice house, beautiful wife and little girl, I don't feel very "punk", either. Plus, with the type of music we play, there's never been a lot of money to offset the work, so it's always been for fun. Well, if the fun's not there... I've been looking to hook up with these other guys and do the cover band thing just to keep playing, because if I'm not practicing with a band, I don't even pickup a guitar anymore. It has been fun playing around with my new effects box, though. But as far as Copper's situation goes, I tend to agree with Jettster and TomT, just hang loose and take some time to write some songs and woodshed. Sometimes, the ol' "A watched pot never boils" is true. When I was single, I always had the best luck when I was sick of women and was just going to be single for a while.
  9. My first Hamer is still my favorite: My 1990 Californian Elite
  10. +1 each for the JAN-Phillips 12AX7's and the SED Winged C's 6L6's. I have this combination in my Mk IV and love it. The SED's are a recommended tube over at The Boogie Board as it works well with Mesa's fixed bias and it simply sounds great.
  11. I'm sorry for your loss, Bill. My condolences to you and your family.
  12. Three pages and no mention of any Motley Crue album? Tsk Tsk
  13. Rise above CB. You and your son are back together and that's the most important thing of all. She knows what happened and will live with the rest of her life.
  14. I love mine for that extra "push" for solos with my Boogie. I like it less for distorting a clean sound.
  15. Even though it's probably the cell service, I would be out of my mind. You're in our prayers Mark.
  16. Favorites then, huh? So many great American bands not listed (all influential): Byrds James Gang Jefferson Airplane T.Rex The Velvet Underground/Lou Reed The Mothers of Invention/Zappa CCR Big Brother & The Holding Co. BOC Any of 'em The Beatles or Stones? Nah, but each one a bad-ass American outfit.
  17. We were playing a house party once when some drunk chick decided to come up and dance with the singer. Everything was fine until she fell into the drums. He gets her up and a few minutes later, into the drums she goes again. Well, this time our singer escorts her out of our area, but a minute later she wanders up and snatches up one of the cymbal stands and starts to dance away with it while mumbling incoherently under her breath at our singer. All her friends start yelling at her to put it back, so she does; by throwing it at the drumset and then she falls into said drumset once more. I think drunk girl stories beat drunk guys stories any day of the week.
  18. no kidding, I know this guitar has pissed off several people who were begging for those ( or some of ) specs not a year ago Joe's thread at the Hamer Museum goes over some of that.
