Yes, go for it! And please report back to us, who are living vicariously through you!

Great price! For $850, who cares about some lacquer cracks on either side of the nut?

Out of curiosity, I checked the nut width of my '91 Special 12. It measures 1.702" wide using my calipers, which is a shade over 1-11/16".
Special 12?! Pics, please!

It would be cool to have a Hamer that was in "The Book"! Maybe not $3900 cool, though.

Dang, that is a nice one. Perfect mate for its twin, my ‘84 Proto. If the neck was a tad wider, I would consider trading it for my Ric 660/12
The neck on my Phantom 12 was too narrow, but I measured that one at only 1-5/8". I have a Fender XII Stratocaster with a 1-11/16" wide nut that plays well.

Those inlays look sharp!

I had the fret markers re-done for my Judas Priest tribute.
Please share a photo of the inlays, please!

I couldn't do it. My Eclipse has a small knot on the front of it which bothers me a little, and even that pushes my limits.

I have a Neo Ventilator and a Mini Vent, and I can attest that they are awesome! Good luck with the sale.

It's probably the most highly figured top I've seen on a Hamer (which is saying a lot) but the website photos might have been just a wee bit enhanced, Or the lighting was particularly heavy with contrast dust that day.
Pictures, please!

I can prove it! I recently received a Hamer USA guitar in the mail, and check the box: no B.S. (Look at the big logo right under the white sheet of paper.)

Love the grain! If I didn't have so many Strats, and if I didn't have a preference against red guitars., and If I hadn't just bought two USA Hamers recently.. oh, wait, what am I talking about? I just can't afford it! Good luck with the sale!

When the Avalon arrived, I sent an email to thank Kiz for the guitar and mentioned that it had really good coil-tap sounds. An e-mail reply simply said, "It has coil taps"?
We've had a good time with this over the years and it's time for payback.
I bought this Gibson '58 Junior with the humbucker a few years ago. There are five cherry, five harvest yellow (a natural with a yellowish tint) and five TV. I noticed that a guy bought one of them and posted it on a Les Paul forum. I told him I had one and he remarked that he really liked the tapped sound as it was like a weaker P-90.
Yup. I didn't know it had a tap for the pickup. What goes around...
Great! Now you have inspired legions of HFC fans to start tugging their knobs... to check for coil taps.

How about the self-titled album for Tom Scott and the L.A. Express? It features Larry Carlton, and I think that Robben Ford plays on it as well. (No, that is not either of them on the cover.)

The guitar certainly looks like a Hamer USA (to me) from the pictures, and it says so in the title of the listing, but here are the specifics in the ad, saying that the guitar is of Korean origin:

when I lived in The Chicago area I used to drink Point beer. Can’t find it out here in the wilds of Bucks County PA.
GLWTS-beautiful guitar.
I used to love Point root beer. If I could buy it here in Canada, I would.

I recommend a used Hamer. Seriously, I remember trying to talk myself into buying a T386 (the 335 style model), but I couldn't do it. High quality craftsmanship? Yes, sure, but at the end of the day, it is still made in China. Maybe you can get past that. I couldn't, even though I love Japanese instruments.
