  1. Some very impressive stretches, and a great crescendo from 1:39-1:52. What a monster talent!
  2. I saw the Mirage II yesterday morning, and I would have bought it instantly except for the fact that the seller said that he would ship to the lower 48 only, and I am up in Canada. I thought about asking somebody here on this forum to buy it for me, ship it to me, and earn $100 for their trouble, but I knew that this guitar wouldn't last at that price anyway. Congratulations to whomever snagged it!
  3. Welcome back! I am hoping that your headstock is still attached to your Cruisebass. Let's see the whole thing!
  4. Personally, I like the fact that it is a little understated, plus like so many other Hamers, I bet it looks even better in person.
  5. Gordon Lightfoot was 84. A Canadian legend. Here is one of my favourite songs of all time:
  6. I love the guitars that are so old that the tuners are made in West Germany!
  7. Great deal! Somebody, please buy this before I lose my mind!
  8. Okay, let's go for 2008 and later USA Hamers! Does anybody here have a serial number later than 8 56330? My latest is a Newport Pro, 8 55896. (Thanks, soli'd!)
  9. The section of this guitar where the synth pickup wire is poking up out of the top reminds me of the scene in the movie, Alien, when the creature bursts out of the patient's chest on the table. My face when I saw this particular guitar looked like the face of the guy in the upper left of this photo:
  10. Does anybody here care to show off a 2008+ USA Hamer? What was the last serial number produced in New Hartford before Fender took over in 2008? Please see this thread:
  11. No affliation. The owner claims that this beautiful Tally is from 2013, but the serial number is clearly 8 56330, indicating a 2008 production. Note the left-handed truss rod cover on the right-handed instrument. This supports the OP's theory that the instrument was produced in 2013: "This is one of the last Hamer guitars made in the New Hartford, CT factory completed by Darren Wallace. So much so that there were only Lefty Truss Rod Covers left and it is sporting the last of the Art Deco Grover tuners." This does not seem to make sense, since as far as I know, the last Hamer serial number was 4 56449 in 2014, meaning that 119 instruments would have been produced after this instrument was made. https://reverb.com/ca/item/68513332-hamer-usa-talladega-2013-amber-sunburst-mint-condition
  12. Beautiful guitar! Cool picture with your reflection in it, as well.
  13. From https://www.loudersound.com/author/liz-scarlett Legendary actor Jamie Lee Curtis thinks bands should put on shows earlier in the day for the people that like going to bed early. We all know it's true: when you reach a certain age, your habit of staying up late into the early hours starts to wain, and all of a sudden, mosh pits at 10pm seem like a fruitless excursion that'll usually leave you with a pulled muscle or aching back to deal with the next morning. Or, perhaps you've simply never been about that late gig finish life and enjoy your bed a little more than most. "Why? Because mommy goes to bed early,” the actor enthuses. “‘Cause 7:30 is gonna be nine before we get food, and you know what? There’s nothing good happening with me after nine o’clock. Nothing. Zero!”. Not all people turn away from evening socializing so easily, but Halloween legend Jamie Lee Curtis is one music fan who would like the live scene somewhat reshuffled to make it a more enjoyable experience for those who don't consider themselves willing to be waiting all night long to see the bands they enjoy. She told The Hollywood Reporter that she actually declined her invite to an Oscars nominee dinner because of her desire to go to bed early, and that she'd like more events, such as a concerts, to take place earlier in the day. Then, advocating for concerts to have a matinee option, she adds: “I am gonna just say this now as a taunt and as a suggestion. U2: do a matinee. Coldplay: do a matinee. What about a 12 noon concert, Coldplay? What about it, Bruce Springsteen? Do a matinee! You’re old! Why wouldn’t you let me come see you, Bruce Springsteen, in your glory days – pun intended – and do it at noon or one o’clock? two o’clock! two o’clock matinee! “Theatre in New York, two o’clock! I will come and hear your five-hour concert, Bruce, at two o’clock, and I’m gonna be home and in bed by 7:30.” The actor followed up on her idea in a recent interview with Today, noting how she's been asking musicians to embrace her idea of earlier shows. She says, “Why are there no matinees? For instance, I love Coldplay. I would love to go see Coldplay. The problem is, I’m not gonna go see Coldplay if they start their show at nine o’clock and there’s an opening act. I want to hear Coldplay at 1pm. I think if we filled a stadium with people who want to see matinee of Coldplay, I think we would start a trend.”
