  1. If you swap pickups be aware that the original pickups are somewhat bigger than regular single coils for strats. So you may need new pick guard to make it look good. Gabe ๐Ÿ˜€
  2. Thanks Chris for sharing this fantastic story! Gabe ๐Ÿ˜€
  3. Easily worth the price. Tallies are great! Gabe ๐Ÿ˜€
  4. Agree with all of the above,( except for the &350 of course). Gabe ๐Ÿ˜€
  5. No, I do not believe that. My Honey/Amber/Natural dot-neck โ€˜79 Sunburst with serial 9 0888 looks like this one with the mahogany back. A sunburst-coloured Sunburst would have a red back. Gabe ๐Ÿ˜€
  6. Willie, thanks for the OP, that was an interesting read (and listen). Gabe ๐Ÿ˜€
  7. anonymous, probably. No offense, itโ€™s the automatic text correction.
  8. Agree, it has the Bigsby of the regular. However not the Phat Cats of the regular. Gabe ๐Ÿ˜€
  9. Talladegaโ€™s are great guitars! Gabe๐Ÿ˜ƒ
  10. Nice guitars, especially th 1979 Sunburst. Good prices (for Europe, at least). Gabe ๐Ÿ˜€ Edited to add: The neck pickup of the Sunburst appears to be the wrong way around, normal the black bobbin would be nearer to the bridge. Peter Green mod?
  11. A lot of the stuff you have put online has been useful, not only to me, but I am sure to a lot of Hamer fans! Thanks again! Gabe ๐Ÿ˜€
  12. Very nice. Especially the pickups and the fact that the f-hole is bound are important assets to this guitar (IMHO). Gabe ๐Ÿ˜€
  13. This the "Irma" guitar, 2007 Talladega Aztec Gold, with a bound neck. It has Kinman P-90 Buckers. The guitar is called "Irma"as I bought it in the beginning of September 2017 from ArnieZ. It was shipped and a few days later hurricane Irma hit our paradise island (Sint Maarten) very hard. I was not sure where the guitar was at that moment, there was no electricity, no water, no internet. Later I could follow the "track and trace" and see that it went back and forth between Florida and Puerto Rico (which had been hit really hard by hurricane Maria right after Irma
  14. Too many guitars, not enough talent. Actually no talent. But I like it. At this moment I am at 7: - 1979 Hamer Sunburst Honey - 1986 Ibanez GB-10 Brown sunburst (or jazzburst?) - 2004 Fender CS 50th Anniversary '54 Stratocaster MB Two-tone sunburst - 2005 Fender CS '59 Esquire Vintage blonde - 2007 Hamer Talladega Aztec gold (The "Irma" guitar) - Crafter JE24 Natural - Tanglewood TW28 dlx 12-string Natural - And a Fender Ukulele! Gabe ?
  15. But what about amps? Or effects pedals? Or the newest digital device? Etc? ?
  16. Newportโ€™s are great, but for A โ€œclassicโ€ jazz sound an Ibanez GB10 is better, and easier to handle than a Gibson L5. Oh, do not forget to put on flatwound strings. Gabe ?
  17. Should that not read "Electraglides"? Gabe ?
  18. In the 1990ies this model was called an Archtop GT, in the 2000's it was called a Studio GT. As it is a 2002 I would call it a Studio.. But in principle it is exactly the same model, maybe the necks of the Archtops are somewhat thinner. Great guitar! Gabe ?
  19. Hi Jimbo. Welcome to the HFC! And learn to do your own setups, it is not that difficult. Gabe ?
