  1. Congrats! I saw that one at Austin House of Guitars a couple of weeks ago. I keep hoping that #022 will surface.
  2. It sounded really great! The pickups get a perfect grind when you crank it up. I was playing through a '65 Super head plugged into a Dr Z 2X10 Cab. Only downside is that I couldn't do volume swells because of the position of the volume knob and the tremolo arm covering the knob. Other than that, killer guitar.
  3. Here's the history. https://chasingguitars.com/hallmark-guitars-60-custom/#:~:text=Hallmark Guitars founded in 1966 by Joe Hall%2C,a series of guitars called the “Swept-Wing” models.
  4. Thanks. It is now on my bucket list.
  5. Which location is this? It looks like he has multiple locations.
  6. I recently picked this up from one of my Dad's car buddies. He's not a musician but he bought it from a friend that needed some money thinking that they would eventually buy it back. His friend never returned to buy it back so he offered it to me because he needed some money for one of his car projects. I don't know much about Hallmark guitars but, based on prices I found on Reverb, I could sell it for more than he was asking so I figured I couldn't lose. After setting it up to my liking, it turned out to be a good player and the pickups are really cool sounding. I found a Hallmark group on Facebook and asked about the guitar. Turns out that the builder, Bob Shade, is one of the moderators. I learned that it is a Buckaroo model and that the Sherwood Green was only used on a couple of guitars so that makes it somewhat collectible, I guess. I'll be gigging it this weekend so we'll see how well it passes the test.
  7. I had a fully tricked out 27" iMac that served me well in my studio for several years. I was crushed when the video card went out and OWC told me they did not have any replacements. I was fortunate to get a free Macbook pro, left over from one of our job sites, as a replacement. Only downside was that I had to upgrade my old Motu interface. Good luck finding a replacement.
  8. I'm guessing it has more to do with Tinnitus?
  9. Can't EJ wear some kind of In-Ear protection rather than those goofy looking headphones?
  10. I remember seeing little JD perform with Danny Rhoads (RIP) when he was just a youngster. They used to play at The Cave Creek Country Club frequently when I lived in Phoenix. He was a monster back then and now, ho-lee-phunk!! What a talent.
  11. I have a wrestling reunion in T-Town this weekend and a stop at the Guitar House is on my itinerary. Nice folks at that shop. Sorry that this happened to them.
  12. Thanks for confirming. I wonder if he ever played it away from that scene.
  13. I watched The Blues Brothers for the first time since I saw it in the eighties last night. During the scene with Ray Charles, it looks like Matt "Guitar" Murphy is playing a Hamer. I can't get a good enough view of the headstock to tell for sure. Waddya think? https://youtu.be/qdbrIrFxas0?si=ks5es_6s4UWPvmQp
  14. I'll be turning 60 this weekend and two of my band members are close to 80. I'm no pro but I play roughly 40 gigs yearly. I'm gonna keep doing this until I am physically unable or croak on stage. Odds are I'll drop from a heart attack lifting my B3 player's rig onto the stage. Ha! Honestly, if it weren't for having to perform the tasks of schlepping gear, setting up and tearing down, I wouldn't be near as wiped out doing these gigs in the Texas heat. I've tried to con my step-son into being my Roadie but no luck so far.
  15. Fender=13, Hamer=8, G&L=5, Bilt=2, Ibanez=2, Reverend=1, Eastman=1, JJoye=1 and Gadow=1.
  16. Bilt definitely qualifies as a boutique shop. They make a fantastic guitar. They have established models but they build them to the customer's specs. Delaney Guitars is another. He has specific models but also builds to the customer's specs. He's building one for me right now. Should be ready in another week.
  17. It is one of my favorite guitars to play. Smooth as buttah.
  18. I'm thinking you're right. I was just curious if they were intentionally wired that way from the factory. Quite honestly, the way it is right now, there's not much difference between the in-between positions and being right on the pickup. Guessing some of that may have to do with how close the pickups are to each other. I'm gonna give it a try and see if I can get some squawk out of it.
  19. Guessing it is because that Gibson with the 3 P90s that T-Bone Walker played had plenty of quack.
  20. The person that I bought my Monaco MII from said that he had the guitar wired "normal" when he ordered it because he said they were wired so that the in-between positions were out of phase. Is this correct? Actually, I wouldn't mind getting that out of phase sound for the in-between positions.
  21. Looks like a nice one. https://sanantonio.craigslist.org/msg/d/san-antonio-usa-hamer-sunburst-archtop/7678570144.html
  22. Oh my! That's a nice one. I did not know that they made a Futura that wasn't a Rick Nielsen signature edition. Cool! GLWTS.
