  1. The memory of this guitar stuck with me over the years. Actually liked the black hardware on it. I'm not buying at the moment but the price of USD 6,699.00 doesn't seem overly crazy these days.
  2. I wish I hadn't organised the sale through reverb back then 🥵
  3. I had a 1980 sunburst that I bought several years ago with a truss rod making noise. Very annoying. Took it to a shop and they said we would have to remove the fretboard to fix it which didn't sound that great either so I sold it being open about my reasons.
  4. ..and it looks like he will be selling the sustain block separately, what a d....
  5. It says it's an attic find, has some marks but no breaks and is in very good condition. They say it was made between 1977-1979 (first digit looks like an 8 ) and that they are well aware of the value of the guitar and what it goes for. Local pick up only. I would have loved to check it out but it's too far away for me. Maybe someone else can? I doubt it's going to last long but it's nice to see a guitar like this show up every once in a while.
  6. This looks awesome with a pretty dark red burst, appears to be in great and original condition as far as I can tell... no affiliation. https://www.kleinanzeigen.de/s-anzeige/hamer-sunburst-usa/2675942696-74-8550
  7. Love it! also...silver hardware is so much nicer on a blue guitar than gold! Edited to add: I just became a HFC veteran 🫠
  8. It is a one off, I've been told by the former owener, who is a well-known member here with an amazing collection of guitars (if he still has them). I like it, only the three -screw truss rod cover is mildly off putting 🫣
  9. A Nik Huber Krautster where I got to design the inlays. Absolutely fabulous guitar!
  10. It's a wicked blend inspired by Liv Tyler and Queen Oona from "Disenchantment" and in recognition of the difficulty of painting hands 🤌🫵🤘
  11. I fear I spend more time painting it than playing it but it's fun either way 😉
  12. This made me laugh! To be honest I believe there was about one time, when I bought a guitar that was properly set up out of many guitars I have bought (I mean something like 30 guitars, probably nothing compared to what other guys have achieved in life). To be even more honest I only understood what to do with those saddles on a guitar about 5 yrs ago 😂 I like my 90s Les Paul much better now then I did back then.
  13. Awesome machting headstock, not so awesome Floyd Rose or whatever that reason was that made them put screws through the neck etc.
  14. I hear ya! Got my black LP Standard in 1992 (it‘s a 1992 model) when I had just turned 18. Whenever I play it it‘s like coming home because I know the guitar so well. Then I have Mike‘s V80 which is awesome, but different and my new Krautster, II that the Hubers customised a little for me (my inlays, ebony neck, matching headstock) which is unbelievable in terms of comfort, weight, materials (the flamed maple neck), versatility. Excellent quality control too and like Mike, people you can actually talk to, which is fun. I wish them all the best and everyone with an open mind in the single-cut sector should give a Huber a try. I play more guitar/s these days because I just love the moment of opening the case and getting them out, the Huber and the Shishkov in particular!
  15. I always liked the green ones, briefly had one myself, which had a really thin neck. This one looks cool. According to the seller it has new frets that he installed and new PUs. Red plush Hamer case. He describes the neck as "slim taper D". It's a little cheaper on his own website. No affiliation. https://reverb.com/item/75450848-hamer-special-bj-1981-made-in-usa-chequerboard-logo https://jsguitarshop.de/shop/e-gitarren/hamer/hamer-special-bj-1981-made-in-usa-chequerboard-logo/
  16. Herzlichen Glückwunsch, Mike, all the best!
  17. I didn't remember I was 25 in '99, thanks for the reminder. Might need that guitar at some point 😉
  18. Thanks for the heads up. This went to a friend of mine. I got to see it the other day. I have to admit I'm not sure the sustain block is all original ((the saddles look like replacements to me) and maybe the wireing isn't either but it's a nice special, feels great, neck on the thinner side, not too thinn. It's still in need of a proper hamer case though. Any hints? 😉
