  2. I can honestly say the Schlabotniks are my favorite set of pups. No desire whatsoever to pull them out of the guitar I have. In the past, I gravitated toward A2 neck and A5 bridges pups. I ended up pulling the '59 neck pups out of my Hamers almost out of the gate every time. And the JB always felt like too much. I loved the Seth Lover neck in the Newport, but was less enamored with SL bridge. If I would have gotten along with the modern carve of the neck I would have dropped in a DiMarzio 36th Anniversary I have lying around or ordered one of Josh's other offerings. So I was really pleasantly surprised at how well the Schlabotnik A2 in the bridge worked for me. The A2 in the neck is simply awesome. Having said that, I have a new build coming that will include the Charlotte set. If ZenMB's video is any indication, that set will give me another tonal range to work with that overall fits in my comfort zone (not that I can play anywhere near as well as he can). If you're thinking of new pups you really owe it to yourself to try the Schlabotniks or the Charlottes.
  3. I've been eyeing one at Chris' Guitars ... it's been sitting a while at around $1200. Seems like a nice price. They also have an Artist Studio with the pigtail wrapround bridge and TV jones pups going for even less. Not sure why they haven't been snatched up yet.
  4. I've thought about selling mine more than a few times. I put it for sale here and got no takers. You know...bored and wanting to try something else. When it's all said and done, I'm glad I kept it. It's utilitarian. Not the prettiest thing. Play with the thing and you'll find all sorts of great tones in Ch 1. Ch.2 is more of a one trick pony for me. Anyway, loud or bedroom volume - it'll do it. Takes pedals well. Is it a tube amp - nope. But no tubes to mess up either. I hope this finds a good home. GLWTS.
  5. Nice tribute. Myles' voice is in fine form - I like it when he sings in a lower register.
  6. Is that in the lobby of a Priest concert you attended in the 80s?
  7. Eray Erel https://www.metalcastle.net Hello dear Readers, I'm Eray. English is not my first language and I could make a grammar mistake. I'm trying to improve my English every day and I won't stop till I exactly learn. Thank you for your understanding. Please contact me if you have any problems or questions: eray@metalcastle.net
  8. ARGHHH!!! If I remember right, you also snagged that p-90 Newport on Reverb that was going for a great price. Good job pulling the trigger, Amigo! DIBS on either one when you get ready to sell.
  9. DR Blues on G scale length guitars - .010s. EBs pure nickels on F scale length - .009s. D'Addario's are always good. Why the differences? I dunno. Probably whatever I had lying around at the time. Some more food for thought... https://www.premierguitar.com/articles/String_Myths_Part_1
  10. "Has anyone seen this before on guitar that has spent most of it's time in a case?" Little cracks, yes. But breaks like you described, no.
  11. As I was typing I was thinking of your "joys". And you're right, the one on the ground was cheaper to chop up and remove.
  12. I'm officially on lock down now that mother nature just knocked out a huge tree in my backyard crushing some fencing and destroying the kids' swing set. I messed up my chainsaw the last time so it's either get some guys to do it or buy a new chainsaw. But it shouldn't be hard to find someone on here with a neck for sale that would go with that body. Seems like a heck of a good deal. GLWTS.
  13. I saw Q at a show with Lynch Mob in Jim Thorpe, PA in 2018. Great show. He's not Tate. But he's really really good. He did the old stuff justice and I liked what he did with the newer stuff. Sorry for the crappy iphone 5c picture - I'm cheap and won't upgrade until that thing truly dies.
  14. Neck pockets in my Daytonas were snug/tight. No shims. I haven't fussed with the t-51 yet.
  15. Back in the day... The natural with the greg-mod and Rio Grande pickups And the p-90 with a chunky neck I should have kept at least one of these... live and learn
