  1. Word of mouth on this "band" is spreading fast!  One of my friends posted about them a couple of weeks ago and then two more who don't even know the first one posted about them in the last couple of days.  They are so NOT me, but I really like them.  The drum beats and basslines are pretty cool and I think the weird costumes are hilarious.

My favorite "famous" person encounter as a player was tricking Joe Barresi into thinking my band was A Perfect Circle back when we were tracking demos at Quad Studios circa 2001.

That's funny.  Years ago one of my bands stopped a McDonald's on our way to a gig.  We were all young long-hairs back them and the people there asked if we were in a band and when we said yes they asked the name.  We said "Stone Temple Pilots".  STP were just starting to catch on so nobody knew who that was.  We said "Just remember STP - you'll be hearing about us soon!"  Little did we know how huge that band would become.  I wonder if those people still tell the tale of how they met STP before they hit it big.

  3. I hate to see that. I really liked Under the Blade, and You Can't Stop Rock and Roll is my favorite, but each album after that they lost me a little more. I only saw them once and it was years past their heyday. They were playing a little outdoor concert series in Richmond, VA and the day they were playing it was like a freakin' monsoon but all shows were rain or shine so they still held it. The venue probably held 10-12,000 and only a few hundred of us braved the weather and came out. They, and Dee in particular, played that show like it was Madison Square Garden and it was going to be the last concert the world would ever see. He gave as much as I've ever seen any performer give that day and I left seriously impressed. I hope he takes care of himself and lives a long, happy life.

  4. I was in a band with Linni Disse, the guy who took Dave Hlubek's place when Molly Hatchet reformed as Gator Country.  Coincidentally Bruce Crump, MH's original drummer, lived about 10 minutes from me and played in the local scene.  He played with a lot of my friends but I never got the chance to jam with him.

I played one gig with a guy who was Christopher Cross's drummer before Cross got a record deal.  The drummer for Silent Rage, a hair metal band that had a video or two on MTV, tried out as a singer for a band I was in.  The Cheap Trick tribute band I was in recorded our demo at Bill Leverty's (Firehouse) home studio.  I had never listened to them at all until then so I streamed all their stuff on Spotify and I have to say Bill is/was a killer player.  He showed me some of his licks and practice routines but they were beyond me.

I changed my them to Default from Bravo 6 Default and can now read it.

I've had that black text on black background problem forever and just swiped over the post window like I was going to copy it so it would highlight it and I could read it.  I had mentioned this before on here no one seemed to know what I was talking about.  I had no idea I was on the Bravo theme.  I switched to the default and it literally made me recoil from the bright whiteness, but now I can read OP's post too.

Edited 1/28: I had to switch back.  That white theme is way too bright for me.  😎

    I hate this whole situation.

If I could afford to take one of those LPC's off your hands, I would, but I think I'm just priced out of that universe forever at this point.

I appreciate the thought.  I'm trying to get the most I can for it at this point.  I'm sure later on my prices will go down if things aren't moving.  It's still depressing as hell but I just keep counting my blessings that I'm still here.

  7. Pre-Reverb listing.  The Rick and PRS are already on eBay for more and will stay up until Christmas or sold elsewhere.  More pictures of all of them upon request.

1998/99 Guild JF30-12 12-string acoustic – natural, blonde maple back, sides, and neck.  Bought new in 2001 and played about once a year since – a real Closet Queen.  Never even removed the pickguard film.  Like buying a 27 year-old NOS guitar.  Guild hardshell case.  $1800 shipped, but I REALLY don’t want to ship this one.  Knock off $100 for local pickup on this or any other guitar on this list.

2011 Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 10-top - Black Cherry, no mods, looks and sounds great, never gigged, custom order gold birds, gold hardware, PRS hardshell case with hangtags still on.  $2700 shipped.

1998 Gibson Les Paul Custom – Alpine White, excellent condition, with standard brown/pink Gibson hardshell case.  It has 3 small brown “stains” on it where it sat in an A-style stand that reacted with the finish (so at least you have confirmation it’s nitrocellulose), two on the bottom and one on the back.  Excellent shape otherwise and plays great.  $4300 shipped.

1983 Gibson Les Paul Custom – Black Beauty, 3-pickup, player grade gigging guitar, Fralin pickup in bridge position, Gibson 3-pickup wiring, standard Gibson brown/pink hardshell case.  This one has the Gibson flip-out tuners that they tried on Customs and Artisan models for a year or two.  Plays great.  $4000 shipped.

1997 Gibson Les Paul Standard – cherry burst, no mods, standard Gibson brown/pink case – no shroud.  Having second thoughts about this one.  Keeping for now.

1979 Rickenbacker 4001 – JetGlo, Fralin pickup in bridge (original pickup included), Ric-o-sound jacks in working order, 9th fret inlay cracked but does not affect play, original case.  $2800 shipped.

Long time no see. How many miles has that guitar travelled?

I still have these pictures from when #5 visited me in 2016. This girl's name is Pirate (the drummer's girlfriend), and I got to take the guitar to a gig.

Yeah, she really got around.  A hell of a lot of us had our turn with her.  (the guitar -  not your drummer's girlfriend)

  9. I definitely have two fine candidates including a very "Special One" (pun intended).  I wasn't planning on selling either one just yet, but I could change my mind depending on what your friend's budget is.  If you don't know what a "Zandard" is, search that term in the forums and familiarize yourself.  As you can see, that one has seen action in a Cheap Trick tribute band before.  Added bonus: I'm just down the road outside of Richmond so we wouldn't have to worry about shipping.

1st album seemed generic to my ear, but I'm a picky SOB

I concur. It reminded me of 90's rock like Nickelback. It was all there, though. Songwriting, hooks, production. Very commercial and professional, but not my jam at all.

That's exactly what I said when the first album was released, and I really WANTED to like it...I just didn't.  Same with the second unfortunately, and I WILL give this one a listen expecting more of the same while hoping to be pleasantly surprised.
