tubesrus Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 Those guitars were so affordable when new and I've always regretted not buying one. A few years ago someone posted a 92 with the skinny neck and I snatched it cheap, it's my favorite guitar and the only one to have the stock pickups still. It was a one-owner guitar; the reverb dealer was selling it for a player who purchased it new from him. I'm told the owner took it to one gig and then kept it in the case for years. I've never had a P-90 guitar that had good sustain; I traded a Robin Avalon P-90 guitar for that reason.
gretsch8217 Posted June 1, 2024 Posted June 1, 2024 I ordered one of these from a local store when they first were available. Don't hold me to it, but I think that I paid in the neighborhood of around $750. It was a really nice guitar, but the slim taper neck was just way too slim for me.
Pieman Posted June 23, 2024 Posted June 23, 2024 i had several pass through. Red ones, green ones, crazy long ones. Stock pickups. Fralins. Never did if for me. No matter how much I tried. Then i bought a Gibson Pete Townshend 50th Anniversary SG with p90s. It sounded fantastic. What I had hoped for in the Hamer P90 Special. These days I’m tempted by the Eastman 55 DC Junior.
