So I sell my perfect sounding Monaco and while in between Hamers, I decide to work on some new stuff tonight with my crappy old FENDER SQUIRE!!!!! I sat there with it for an hour trying everything under the moon to make it sound like anything but a hunk of garbage. I need to find a new guitar quickly. /emoticons/default_blink.png

How about a Fernandes Ravelle Deluxe?Seymour Duncans.'59 bridge.JB neck. /emoticons/default_ohmy.png

No,it's not a Hamer...But still is a faithful rocker! /emoticons/default_blink.png

How about a 2002 Artist in super-cool Silver Sparkle? Condition 10/10. Perfect. E-mail me if you're interested.

Ah Miss Charlie, you can make it happen with a Fender Squire.

Maybe try some new pickups?

I don't think it's your type of music, but Jeff Healey sure tore it up with a Squire! /emoticons/default_blink.png

Check my signature for some examples. And there are some helluvanice Standards on the Buy and Sell page at great prices!

Edited to add: That Vanguard pictured above is pretty sweet too. I have a 25th Anniversary that will never leave me (unless I can get it duplicated with a club neck). They're THAT nice.

Hey Charlie,

If you want, I'll take a look at your strat and see what I can do to get it playing / sounding better .... let me know..

Jason01 - Not George hahha!

Riffer - Hamers only

sw686blue - OMG That is such a sweet guitar. But I have my heart set on a blueburst.

Mobster - I think I may send that Squire over to my guitar players for a while and see what he can do to fix it up for me. Good idea.

galejt - yes it is sweet.

BCR Greg - something BLUE! /emoticons/default_blink.png

mrmojorising - nice

pesocaster - that would be sweet. I plugged it in and it squeled for a half an hour, then when I played it, it sounded like ASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS I will bring it by.

Hamer95USA - Artist or Newport! /emoticons/default_ohmy.png

Other than the Newport, those HB Anniversary/Vanguard/Artist Mahog guitars are about my favorite, and play and sound sweeeeeeeeeeet! And they can do FANTASTIC crunch & grind, and yet clean up to play really sweet and acoustic-like.

Why not get that one and have Stike refinish the top in blueburst?

Oop, one thing though; blueburst would look darker over mahogany compared to putting it on spruce or maple.

Killer guitars tho. I love mine.

"Why not get that one and have Stike refinish the top in blueburst?"

last time we spoke, stike was waaay backed up w/ his work w/ gadow guitars, i wouldn't consider that as an option unless you wanted to wait a loooong time.

You know Charlie, with such a unique vision in your head maybe it makes sense to put through a custom order and buy something to hold you over.

Following the discussion on whether a newport would create feedback problems etc it seems like a chamber Monaco Elite (smaller then the superpro) or an Artist semi-hollow makes the most sense. On the custom order you could do a few other things to make it Charlie's Guitar- ebony fretboard? cool inlays... or none? If you do go Newport, those bound F-holes can look wicked. Hey guys, does Hamer offer black binding? Now that would be cool on blue-burst.

JohnnyB - indeed, the artist is starting to look real nice to me.

Brooks - Is redoing the finish an expensive thing to do?

Buzzy Fretts - oh... those are some very good ideas. I do think that a custom order is going to be the way I go. However, I do think I need to get a cheaper version of what I think I want, just to try it out and make sure it is what I want or I will be selling another wicked Hamer again. But I want that to be something I will be happy to play.

thats sounds best. don't fool w/ a refin.
