Dnomsed
Hey guys my Uncle gifted me this guitar after about 10 years me pleading him to let me buy it. I’m unsure about the year of it and would love to know. It’s a beauty of a guitar, I researched a little and found it might be a 1986 chapparal? thank you for any help, Des

0 Jimbilly
Nice! The only thing you're allowed to change is the strap buttons to locking (like Dunlops), if you keep the original buttons in the case, but seriously, avoid the temptation to change pickups or anything, there's not enough un-modded Hamer 'Super strats' around. If you don't already love them, give the stock pickups some time, and they will probably grow on you a whole lot. And tell you uncle that you need some amps and effects!, what else does he have lying around?? 2 2

Hamer “super strat”? I knew this guitar was special! My uncle is a blues man and he has this thing lying around and probably gave it to me because it’s not that blues looking. It sounds GREAT even unplugged. I need to solder a wire and other than that this thing is perfect
0 Steve Haynie
You are officially offered $350 if you want to sell it.

I’ll take the $350 As compensation for this ridiculous offer. This thing is an absolute beast, I’ll never sell it and even if I did I wouldn’t accept anything lower than 10x that amount

This picture was taken last year, I’ll post a more recent picture with the bridge set, newer strings and it been cleaned up. like I told the other guy, I’m not really looking to sell. Just some deeper insight on it 2
0 JGale
Okay. I’ll go $351.
0 Jakeboy
@Dnomsed, an offer of $350 is a tradition here, dating back to when one could actually snag a used Hamer for that amount. It is a nod to many, many great deals here (we treat each other very well) as well as a running joke and an acknowledgement of how expensive gear has gotten. Freaking @JGale upped the ante, so let’s just end this with a cool $355 offer from me that awaits your approval at any point in the future. 😎 2
0 Jimbilly
Offers of $350 are a hazing ritual now it seems. - but it never hurts to ask...

Haha I didn’t know;p

If you keep the original pickups and and swap the pickups up back or offer them with the sale is that a bad thing? I like Vintage OBL pickups. Is it wrong to change them and put the originals back in? I doubt people would know it did sell off the shelf with OBLs. What happens when you have a pot go bad? Take a part the Hamer Marked case and put it on the CTS replacement? I'm just curious as I'm getting ready to thin the herd. Thanks, Ham
