The great Cali drought 2024??

Damn..haven't seen a Cali for sale anywhere in quite some time. Where are they???

I sold off all but 2 of mine- the double neck and C³ remain.

I think thats the same as me /\ I sold all mine and actually don't really miss them reality.

They are cool and all, but their hype and monetary value as something to sell to someone who desperately wants one completely outweighs that I prefer my other guitars to actually play and use.

I found one on CL a few months ago, which was very much just luck / watching CL at the right time.

Well, most of them are at my house.   😝

Seriously, I think a lot of them are in a closet or a collection.  People who bought them in the 80's and 90's spent a lot of money at that time to get them.  The ones in the closets are owned by people who know they are great guitars, don't play them; but don't want to sell them.  Maybe it would feel like giving up your dream to be a rock star?

Diablo Guitars sells some off occasionally for big bucks.  Otherwise it is hit and miss.  The Cali Deluxe I bought recently was on Reverb;  I purchased it right away.....not sure how many people even saw that one.  It may be one of the best Cali's I have ever bought....and not the most expensive.

The Hamers that Diablo sells are pretty much all from the collection of a Member here.

Heads up ... I spoke by phone today to our old HFC pal Jason "kullifornian" Kull.  He is soon putting on the FS block one of his Calis ...

Specifically, an '88, banana yellow, boomers and ebony. He thinks it was a custom order because he said it has a one-piece maple neck.

Kull hasn't visited this page in forever, but he's active on Facebook and at the Hamer USA Guitars fan page on Facebook. Go ping him to get the details.
