bry4321 Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 This morning my old backpacking brain kicked in and thought "what if guitar straps put the weight on your hips instead of your shoulders?" Of course, someone already thought of that. This one requires putting a hole in your guitar for their strap. If I had back problems I might give it a try. Also found this one, which attaches with SUCTION CUPS to the back of the guitar: And this one: Quote
Jimbilly Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 I had a back injury 2 years ago, a collapsed vertebrae (T9 iirc), I'm still slowing improving, I bring a stool and sit as needed, which is less and less, little by little. Lightweight instruments help too. Something like the above might help but I'm getting by ok, if I was better at doing my pt, that would also help! 1 Quote

A little extreme, but it makes sense. 1 Quote

crunchee Posted September 2, 2024 Posted September 2, 2024 For a second, I thought the topic might be about Couch straps again, or whatever else is trendy nowadays: 2 Quote
Brooks Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 I'm not there yet, but its good to know these options are out there. Quote
kizanski Posted September 3, 2024 Posted September 3, 2024 If a 10 pound guitar is going to make you reach for the Advil, it's time for some Farmer Carrys. 2 Quote

That approach also gives you the opportunity to reject guitars for sale that you couldn't afford to buy anyway, but still felt like grilling the seller about the weight. 1 2 Quote
