hamerhead Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 Everybody has the same idea this morning. It's only a little scary.
Steve Haynie Posted September 29, 2024 Posted September 29, 2024 I am waiting for the black metal bloody stool.
hamerhead Posted September 30, 2024 Posted September 30, 2024 Well you might want to see a doctor for that, Steve.

Nothing says "I am of a certain age" like an evening tethered to the toilet followed by a morning of sweet, sweet propofol-inspired dreams. Then a gigantic lunch! IYKYK.

I don't know if they changed the stuff you drink but I was near gag-and-puke level after the 3rd or 4th glass. The 'Thousand Waterfalls' was a breeze by comparison.

My 5th or 6th (I've lost count) is scheduled for 8:15 AM Friday. My Gavilyte-G is on the counter. I can't wait for the thrill ride that starts Thursday evening.
velorush Posted October 1, 2024 Posted October 1, 2024 When I was in college, my Venezuelan roommate had Animal Husbandry Class and he was recounting (with fantastic accent) how, to check for a cow being pregnant one had to first, with a water hose, "clean the canal" followed by reaching up the cow's arse and checking for a calf - endless teasing ensued as I accused him of having too short a glove and a resulting brown ring around his upper arm, but I digress... Flash forward to my wife's colonoscopy (no, I'm in no way comparing my wife to a cow) a couple of months back. Her prep, unlike mine of eight years ago, consisted of a mild laxative, then showing up at a "prep unit" where they basically 'cleaned the canal' with some sort of device she attempted to describe as "like getting on a motorcycle only with one's torso laying out flat on the tank." This took only around fifteen to thirty minutes, and she then moved immediately to the colonoscopy room next door and underwent the procedure. This seemed so much easier than what I went through, crapping myself inside out for a good twelve hours prior the procedure, I'm strongly considering switching doctors for my second just because the clinic for my first does not offer this option.

stobro Posted October 1, 2024 Author Posted October 1, 2024 When I edited my original post a couple of days ago and changed the title to "Oops, I was too late!" I had no idea the topic would take this turn. Now it seems prophetic. Actually, I hope it isn't.

Biz Prof Posted October 3, 2024 Posted October 3, 2024 Having my first colonscopy tomorrow. Chugged the first dose of colon blow liquid with a healthy spike of Crystal Light lemonade mix. The aftertaste is....not great. Now, I've had some spirited bowel movements in my lifetime, but I do not look forward to this thrill ride.
