Greg G Posted April 23, 2025 Posted April 23, 2025 This ‘69 Princeton Reverb was at an independent music store. Didn’t break the bank. It looks as if it was just set aside for years. Really dusty. Had a replacement speaker, which I’ve replaced. It was all original except the power cord, speaker and 2 tubes. 5 of 7 tubes were original RCAs with ‘67 & ‘68 date codes. Has all nos RCAs in it now. I sent the chassis off and had it serviced. Cleaned all the dust bunnies out of the cabinet & cleaned the tolex. Just finished reassembling it and am getting acquainted with it. I had briefly posted pics of it in the “ask the experts” when I was looking for a tech. Apologies if you’ve seen it before. But this time it’s functional. Sorry for the crummy phone pics. Any love for the PR?
topekatj Posted April 24, 2025 Posted April 24, 2025 Ah, the noble Fender Princeton Reverb (-AMP!) It’s like a broken drum …… YOU CAN’T BEAT IT! Seriously, at one point in time I had a ‘74 Deluxe Reverb (purchased NEW!) and my original early ‘65 no logo PR. Both are Fender perfection as far as what they can do. Still have the PR.
G Man Posted April 24, 2025 Posted April 24, 2025 Great score! I've got a '71 PR that is now housed in a larger cabinet sporting a 12" ceramic Tone Tubby speaker. Glorious tones! There's a reason it is one of the most recorded amps in history.

Jimbilly Posted April 24, 2025 Posted April 24, 2025 I've never had one of those, but I'm certain I would be happy with one.
velorush Posted April 24, 2025 Posted April 24, 2025 Though I've never owned one, thinking back, I've never heard a negative comment. Closest I've ever gotten was a splendid Mesa Subway Blues - at least in spec, a very close analog (EL84s though).
Disturber Posted April 27, 2025 Posted April 27, 2025 Never played one, but I am sure it's great! Looks beautiful too. I have an early 80s Fender Super Champ that does the Princeton thing very well. Love it.
