Dutchman Posted May 10 Posted May 10 (edited) For all you builders and repair folks. I'm building another amp with the AB763 Circuit and came across some resistors that where supposed to be 820 ohm resistors, correct color Gray red brown. When I measured them to install they measured 820k ohms. Multiplier should be yellow! So measure your parts before you install. Can't trust anything these day's. Last build I had a new electrolytic cap that the ESR said it was shot. Brand new!!! Measure and double check!! I'll get off my soapbox now!! Edited May 10 by Dutchman 3 1 Quote
JGale Posted May 10 Posted May 10 Measure, measure and double check!!! i am certifiably color blind and I successfully build pedals everyday. Measure, measure, measure. Auto ranging meters are Gods gift to us all. 3 Quote

I have used Fluke for commercial work and personal use for decades and still have them... pricey though You can actually pick up a cheapie at harbor freight for $6 Edited May 10 by Dave Scepter 2 Quote

JGale Posted May 11 Posted May 11 (edited) When my beloved auto ranging Fluke died after 15 years (and a healthy drop on concrete) I picked up this from a local electronics shop. Not auto ranging, but has lots of nice features. $27. I recently found a Fluke 25 at a yard sale. Auto ranging but a big fella to handle. Edited May 11 by JGale 2 Quote
